That's not necessarily true. I've got around 10,000 hours in them; they do have less wing area than an ATR but it's not so much to be that noticeable - though down the back on -300s they can wobble around a bit. The landing gear is fine more clearance underneath and a wider track than an ATR or Dornier.

The Q400 is a veritable rocketship as far as turboprops go - can exceed Vno on one engine.

Doing some Open Conflict ops very soon if anyone wishes to hop along to the TS and join in they're very welcome.

I'm pretty out of practice. I've not used it or really played a racing game since GT-5 (quite surprised that I a)still have these images saved and b) how good GT-5 looks for a PS3 game) and Live4Speed. I tried GRID 1+2 and a few of the Dirt games a while back but basically insta-refunded them.

I had forgotten how this wheel is worth every fucking cent I paid for it.

I played a few rounds on my controller, couldn't find my rhythm. Then jumped on the wheel. Like riding a bike.

Pretty much everything but basic airmanship honestly. My main problem is that I learn something and then don't practice it enough to remember it. For example I learnt mavericks ages ago and now can't remember any of the controls or procedures, then I start getting confused with the A-10C's buttons and procedures. It's not that I can't learn it, I just need to put the time in.

Are you going for grip driving or drift driving?

If you're going for maximum grip, you can try things like lowering tire pressures a bit and increasing camber. Also tighten up your suspension a bit.

You can watch some youtube videos on how to tune cars, lots of good info out there.

A 15 year old can also fly a plane. An average 15 year old could probably not engage modern in air to air combat. To fly and drive at the top level are both very demanding skill sets that are vastly different from the minimum level required to accomplish a task.
Your implication that because a 15 year old can drive a car, all car driving is easy. I'm not sure you understand the concept of a skill ceiling and skill floor. Just in case English is a second language for you or you held your breath while standing up sharply to simulate G-Forces one too many times I'll elaborate since it appears your ego is derived entirely from flying virtual planes and therefore you have taken a statement of fact as a personal attack on your very self worth and have gotten rather defensive.

Negative camber can help with drifting too, it can help the tyres stay flat on the road during weight transition if you get a lot of body roll.
I'll have to play with the settings a bit, I'm not sure how well setup the basic "tuned" cars are.
I feel like for a lot of the hill climbs I'm running I don't want to go too stiff and low so I've got travel to to deal with the height changes. It's all a bit up in the air right now as I'm still driving like shit and I don't know the tracks very well.

Track IR is basically the standard. It can be pretty pricey though.

I built one using a webcam, bits of old floppy disk (for the light filter) and IR LED's. It worked ok for something that cost me under $5. The biggest issue I had was I mounted it (badly) to my headset instead of a hat and that caused a lot of problems. Worked pretty well in DCS. On account of my design it had trouble tracking at the edges of the range and wasn't very comfortable but on the whole the idea is sound. I imagine the OpenTrack software has come on a bit since then too.
Mount it to a snug fitting hat. Make sure your LED's are really nice and bright. Mount them securely and you should be golden.

Yeah I think that's how I did it. It's been a few years but that sounds right. From what I remember, the floppy filters everything but the IR light meaning only your bulbs should show up.

Good luck finding a floppy disk though.
