Here's a shitty explanation.

They have no connection to FSN Sakura. In the world of Extra, there's a god computer that hosts a tournament in order to explore humans in different situations. God computer has recorded all of reality and is connected to the throne, its been around longer than humans. It has data on everthing and everyone that's ever happened, it has files and raw data on them all, and can recreate them on a whim. It recreates everything with data, since the alien god computer is perfect and all powerful and stuff, everything is equal to reality. Whoever loses the tournament gets erased and dies in real life.

The computer creates NPCs and AI's in order to manage the contest for it. One of the AI's looks like Sakura, there's a backstory there but its complicated

AI Sakura goes through the absolute world archive, finds some gods and stuff. Puts them all in a blender, and uses a small piece of herself as base material so it'll congeal together into a new creation.

So Alter Egos are god-monster abominations, made from part of an AI gone rogue. Each of the Egos has a broken skill/ability from the thing they were created from, and also a negative skill.

Well there isn't one. That's the thing. It was hinted in America, but it turned out she just used the summoning ritual used in the clan calatin spell to summon 28 demon pillars instead. And aside from that, all we have after that is Scat mentioning that the big boar is a fortress-class monster ranked the same as Clan Calatin, and that's it.

I do see her showing up in Extella 2. I actually wished they'd include some dlc routes, but that'd never happen. As for her popularity, granted it started pretty low but more recently I think it's improved - a lot of nip women seem to like cosplaying her and shipping her with cu alter, they've forced her into some events in Grand Order like the Nero Festival and all in all she's getting more fanart now than she did back from America, even if the main artist is still chuya. If they ever do release an animated version of America, I fully expect some Medb merchandise like a figure or so actually.

Clan Calatin is a monster formed of 28 men that, in lore at least, almost killed Cu, and would have, if not for one of Cu's old allies who had defected from Ulster to Connaught saw the fight and intervened as he didn't want to see Cu get killed by it. Cu then cut it into pieces to stop one of its 28-parts running back and telling Medb. Medb herself describes it as her masterpiece, which is why I find it interesting that we haven't heard more about it.

But let's go for the cold facts: Gilgamesh has never been portrayed once as some kind of hard guy to need team alliance between Servants. And he has appeared in more works than FSN by now. Ozymandias was, even in Camelot. You can blame Nasu because all we have about Gil are pure talk and no walk. I like Gil as a character a lot, but in his feats show (which is what truly matters) he's really lacking. In a powerlevel talk, you bring up feats, not hearsay.
