I don't really understand what that anon meant with the max amount of pwps, but it's possible that if youre at the at the max (30) pwp built in your town the anmals won't suggest more, if you have fewer don't bother building more just wait for the villagers to ping you with some new idea.

what it works for me is having only tools and 100 bells coins in my full inventory so when they ping you they won't offer furniture or try to buy things from you. they will still try to talk about their catchprases and so but your chances for a pwp suggestion are better. you can only get 1 pwp suggested each day.

i would also demolish 1 bridge until i have every one suggested too.

i plan on taking this until all common/most often seen textures are replaced as well as all the villagers and npcs. so npcs, buildings, terrain, and ui are a priority. then ill start work on furniture, items, and other bonus stuff.
once i get some more textures done, ill probably post the project on the dolphin forums to get the ball rolling (i feel kinda weird about it since there's already another AC:GC texture project up there, but mine is better in terms of quality, the amount of textures done, and the frequency of progress).

And this is the perfect example for why gently used villagers are sometimes better choices than "good as new" ones. You can really get a feel for what the original person saw in that villager with what kind of things they say and wear and let's be honest here, who wouldn't want Pecan to be begging every single time you went up to talk to her?

Worst case scenario is you have to switch out all the fish in their house but the fresh villagers don't have that personal touch.

so what can i get exactly on weed day? if there's no weeds in my town when it starts i get 3 pwps, and if i have and plug some i get only 1 furniture at the end of the day? is really hard getting a lot of stuff from this holiday or am i getting it all wrong?

He'll tell you to pick a specific number of weeds and come back to get a reward, you do it a few times. If you have SHITTONS of weeds you can get the whole set in one day, I don't think he gives dupes until you have them all, but that takes SHITTONS.

It's also worth mentioning that outside of weeding day, if you let enough weeds grow (I think 50), then Lief will show up in your main town and let you play a weeding minigame that rewards you with flower furniture, depending on how fast you clean the town, the amount of weeds, and luck (it's only one piece of furniture though). It's not a good way to get flower furniture though because it's like once a month technically and you can get dupes from that.

What's the widespread appeal? It seems like everyone adores it, but I just feel like I'd rather play a Harvest Moon/Rune Factory game.

Coelacanth is a massive, thin shadow when there's snow/rain but is a rare spawn. Char is similarly rare and spawns between the waterfall and sea (be careful since it can hide under the splashing water of the fall itself) but should be the only thing spawning there. Just stick at it and good luck save and continue is an option, if it doesn't make you feel dirty

In Animal Crossing? There's nothing really like that. Granted, using your time wisely is something to know. Night time is actually THE best time to start earning cash early game once you get access to the island. It's easier to farm bugs since the cheap bugs don't spawn at night. It takes a while to save lots of money at once, but I had a nice pace of one full payment a day worth of bug bells which never felt too big for me even into the large payments.

Once you have lots of shekels you just put your money into the stalk market and wait for someone here to announce their Retail is buying 500+. Rinse and repeat. Then you just accumulate Bells. Thankfully there are a lot of PWPs to build in the meantime and lots of money sinks like that to use it on.

I've played Harvest Moon, and Harvest Moon's farming was weaker than Stardew Valley's, its relationships were weaker than Animal Crossing's, and everything else was weaker than Rune Factory's.

Rune Factory arguably has more depth than any other game of its genre but the extreme anime tropes, voice acting, etc. really put me off of it.

Animal Crossing gives you a very open-ended game, with massive customization options for your house, the ability to develop relationships with characters of your choosing, and the ability to design a town within the restrictions of the game to an extent that it's extremely rewarding to do so.

I imagine that most people who do not enjoy Animal Crossing are expecting it to present concrete challenges and act like most other games.
