nth for I have an open wound for which I'm receiving negative pressure therapy. It means I have a canister attached to a dressing that maintains a vacuum, sucking the exudate out of the wound. These canisters can last for a week and a half, so I have a week and a half old blood and pus in a canister on my person. The canisters are airtight but if there is a leak in the dressing I have to reset the vacuum by letting out any air that has leaked into the canister. This air is foul with the stench of rotting and dead flesh and pus and so on.

Which is a long way of saying I have a fully immersive Fallout scent "mod".

Bethesda worlds are full of random encounters, and dynamic events, with NPCs walking all over, and having daily schedules, far beyond what basically any other RPG does.

Most RPGs are still like Witcher 3, or New Vegas, where people do nothing but stand in one spot, or walk back and forth in one line, all day every day.

Guild wars 2 would be one of the most dynamic games out there since its events can happen without the player, though they just loop endlessly

A lot of them don't actually, many named NPCs never sleep at any point in the game.

The few scheudles NPCs do have are really primitve, like, pre-Oblivion primitve, as they will mostly just wake up, go to an assigned spot, stay there until night take, then go to bed, without ever stopping to eat or take any side distractions, like NPCs in Oblivion, skyrim, and Fallout 4 do.

A few things:

1. More gunner mobs who are not immediately hostile. For example, the free-way on-ramp thing? instead of attacking you, they try to make you pay an outrageous toll. Maybe even a few you can see hanging around in major settlements minding their own business.

2. Clarify the lore behind them a bit. They can't all have been the Vault 85 populous, the numbers wouldn't add up. Not to mention there's some subtle hints some of their command might be synth replacements, or some Institute connections. (based on how the Galaxy television station has notes where the command seemed to randomly change their minds without recalling giving the original orders) Even just having a few bodies possess synth components would help. Also maybe add to their relationship between other factions like raiders.

3. Give more diversity to them. Have there be express gunner Marksmen who use long-barreled combat rifles or sniper rifles to pick you off from a distance, engineers who work with custom Gunner Robot mobs, and the like.

4. Have the Gunners react to the players, if only in terminal entries. Raider terminals tend to mention how they're getting picked off if the player keeps trashing their bases, why not have ones where they acknowledges bases that have gone down, and in the case of quincy: freak out because the traitor thinks (and might be right) that the Minutemen are coming for revenge.

I wasn't sure where it was appropriate to ask this but I've had enough. I have Fallout 4 for the PS4, and recently my companion X6 has been glitching out. I added Sheffield to sanctuary and then X6 disappeared. Like I had codsworth with me and was far from sanctuary (across the map) and found X6 walking around. So I went back to the save before adding Sheffield. Now I just discovered that when I switch X6 out for another companion he disappears like earlier. Anyone else ever have this happen? Is there a fix? I love X6 but I want to spend time with Maccready

Also, some itnerest tidbits regardeing cut posrtions of quests

-Originally, the Vault 81 quest to find a cure for the mole rat disease was going to involve both Austin and the Overseer getting infected, with the choice being to save one or the other, rather then save Austin or save yourself. This is why Travis mentions he heard reports of some casualties, even if no one died during the quest.

-The Silver shroud quest was originally going to be a bit more complex. For starters, one could do evil actions, such as letting the drug dealer go, and doing the hit for the Gunners, which would make the Shroud's reputation more negative. Shinji nwas also originally going ot be a human, and you could "kill" him by flooding the hospital was radiation from the reactor(which wouldnt have hurt Kent since he is already a ghoul). Shinjin would have survived, and come back later as the ghoul he is in-game. There is also some mention of being able to destroy the Silver shroud suit in a vat of acid, maybe to "kill the legend" on Shinjin's orders and get him to release Kent.

-Turning in those overdue books was originally going to result in the Boston library mainframe being completed, and you getting a holodisk with the contents of it. Its not clear who this holodisk was going to be passed on to, but a unused NPC suggests a NPC related to the archivist group you can find dead in the Library was going to find you and ask for it.

-The cut underwater vault was orignally going to play into the chinese ghoul in the submarine, as an unsued line from Deacon, when he is hyping up the player's accomplishments to Desdemona when you first meet the railroad, has him talking about "a Chinese submarine, an underwater vault, and a daring recuse"

Here's one from the devs themselves: If you thought the T-60 looked a lot like the T-45, that's because it originally was.

I inferred that from the fact that it says T-60 was originally going to be the look of T-45d. Unless the 'b-d' upgrades had been originally planned as separate armors.

another thing that really bugs me with FO4 is that I felt like the Legendary enemy system actually wasn't a bad idea per-say to add more challenge to enemies for a 'boss encounter'.

Problem was that in addition to the poor implementation overall, it seems like legendary enemies CANNOT have their own names and must be Generic NPCs than being the actual bosses of many stages.

I mean, all Coursers should have been legendary, gunner bosses, etc. But instead they're always the nameless and meaningless opponents.

In my personal opinion, i would use wmx instead because it has more compatiblity patches.

I am glad you using MO. So i would try moving the resources a bit more. Maybe a weapons mod resouces might be overwritten by something which can cause huge fuck ups. Especially with oHud. that fucked needs to be set up correctly in the resources window.

In a world like Fallout's, the idea that a bunch of people wouldn't come together, and use all the military tech laying around, to make easy money, and oppress anyone who opposes them, is implausible to the extreme.

Gunners have similar motives as raiders. They are just people using the things around them to survive in the way they feel is best, and easiest, for them.

About all I'm going to do is make those glass tubes transparent, paint the liquid inside to plasma green, and make it glowy as hell. The metal bits will be chrome and coppery.

I thought about doing a Lil Hunter paintjob for X-01, but that's too much nuclear throne-y. Might do that later though in another mod or update to this. I'm going to update this mod in the future with Automatron plasma weapons and plasma melee things.

It cleaned out the rubble and replaced the wall with an intact variant without the NPCs and companions going all screwy, so it def included navmeshing. It also added some tunnels but that's not really necessary. Pretty clean and simply solution.

Looking at it more, some of the rubble is built in to parts of the meshes of the castle itself. I can get the custom meshes from the mod you linked and sort it out, but it's gonna take me a little longer, considering I'm dead tired right now.

I thought I could just copy a solid side of the castle and replace the broken parts with it, but of course it's not so simple.

The part that annoys me is you can almost do that, as they use generic rubble piles for 99% of the collapsed doorways, then they just throw in 2 or 3 that are build into the castle itself as a big fuck you to modders trying to do exactly this.

Small guns and energy weapons both have common and easily acquired late-game weapons. Big guns doesn't. Last time I had a Vindicator and 130% big guns skill, I hit an Enclave soldier point-blank 8 times in a row for no damage. Same thing happened with an Avenger minigun against a Mariposa mutant. Big guns in Fallout 2 are totally useless, with the single exception that is the Bozar.

Basically if you want to finish the game with small guns or energy weapons, you can buy what you need. If you want to finish the game with big guns, you need to open an online FAQ so you know where to find the one useful weapon that you need and then aim for the eyes.

The Minigun has always sort of sucked, though. It is the perennial red-headed stepchild of the FO weapons pool. The thing that bothers me about the settlements system of Fallout 4 is that the player can recycle raw materials for building shit, but everything you build seems to come pre-damaged. Paint is chipping off, window panes are shattered or missing, mortar is crumbling. If you truly don't care about the aesthetics of your plank wall, then why are the planks it's made of mysteriously the same exact color and not recycled from numerous sources?

All the relatively new settlements in Fallout 2 actually looked like they were hadn't suffered from 30 years of no maintenance.

Looking over FO2 weapons, Big Guns has the variety. Dealing with crowds? Rocket launcher. Range? Bozar or LMG. Going against a bunch of fleshy enemies at close range? Flamer.

The big thing is that they're all heavy. Big Guns accompany Small Guns. Energy Weapons replace Small Guns. And there-in lies the biggest issue with Big Guns. Grenades are cheaper, lighter, and more plentiful.

I'm thinking this may be good. Throwing serves the early game spear-fucking use and then later aids via grenades. Small Guns is fucking essential. Energy Weapons come much later and pew pew is just too strong to ignore.

Strength enough for most, Perception 1 away so the implant hands me Sniper, Endurance enough for Strong Back and every other Endurance-based perk, Charisma enough to be buffed, Intelligence has a floating point investment I'm debating but 6 int is good for Comprehension if I decide to grab it, Agility is mandatory, and Luck is also mandatory.

Why do we need a reset? Even New Vegas talks about California being pretty developed. Vegas is only the way it is because it's a wartorn frontier. And the Capital Wasteland and whole east coast in general was bombed to shit.
Development in the Commonwealth is slow because of the Glowing Sea blowing in Rad Storms and Institute fuckery, but at least people are trying in the Commonwealth.
The Island is pretty far along for being backwater rural Mainers.

I want a Fallout TV show... Something along the lines of Fallout 1's story, where it shows the Dweller slowly becoming the man the Overseer fears as he loses all his friends, including Katja and Tycho. Also, it'd be a lot more dramatic: the Dweller recruits various towns and settlements to launch an all-out assault on Mariposa, and later the Cathedral. And he convinces the Master to an hero, since we all know the Dweller is Albert. Finally, at the end of the series, when talking to the Overseer, his monologue makes sense: the Dweller will have, at this point, turned from a naive and hapless citizen to a ruthless and stone-cold badass. Then he draws a gun on the Overseer, who says:

as he walks away, and the Dweller looks at his gun (the .223), finally realizing the monster he's become. He leaves, and a silent montage plays showing what happened afterwards, with Maybe playing, and finally ends with the Dweller, in hobo rags, walking off into the distance.

Now that I finally took the time to actually collect the power armor I found, or had the resources I thought I needed for it, on my current playtrough of Survival.

I decided not to go for the X-01, and for some reason, despite being high level. I havent found any.
I pimped up a suit of T-60, for the looks, and T-51 as backup.

Its slow and has high maintenance, and my awesome "legendary" armor looses all of its perks in the armor.

Giving the Gunners jetpacks would make them a lot cooler. Be able to hop across their overpasses.

Getting up to the overpasses and bridging the gaps between them is hard, but once you can do that, traveling on top of the overpass is the safest, easiest way to get around the wasteland.

Military grade is likely made from similar substances. There's no reason to assume it's made with petroleum given that a portion of Fallout's ammunition types are sci-fi alternatives. Well there's a quest where some of them rebel but you can resolve the situation. They lock themselves in their room and basically throw a tantrum, you can either kill them, give them probation, or banish them.

Obviously, restore the BoS ending where SS takes over. Either enact policy to make them more lenient or more violent.

If taking over the institute, you have the opportunity to subjugate their facilities to the cause of the Minutemen, or you can mandate that all Institute members, including SS, undergo synth conversion for the total enhancement that it provides. For the purposes of this ending, it's basically like having prosthetic bodies/cyberbrains from Ghost in the Shell.

Railroad doesn't have many options, but maybe at least give you Old North Church and Ticonderoga as settlements once the threat of the institute is vapor. Maybe include an entire addendum to the story where the institute's plan was to exploit the railroad to disseminate synths to settlements so that when The Institute triggered some subroutine the synths would massacre the human settlers. When you expose this plot to Dez, the railroad turns into a mission of synth elimination, and tinker tom manages to work up a foolproof synth detection device.

To me T-60 looks like it's unfinished. Look at how much more sleek something like the T51b is. It looks like the T-60 is missing some armor plates taht should be covering those technical parts. Look at how many rivets and bolts are visible compared to T51. Why does a supposedly older and less advanced model look like it's much more likely to deflect attacks and maintain integrity?

Did you guys ever try using weapons like flamers or miniguns or gatling lasers in New Vegas?

The backpack tends to spawn, and if you move forward will stay in place. Worse yet it has physics, so it can then be knocked around the environment without being attached to the character.

Also they can spawn and "stack" if you continue to switch between weapons. Up to 50 backpacks can be spawned on the character and subsequently end up cluttering the environment.

And no, I'm not looking to remove them or utilize a backpack mod, I just want to fix the vanilla backpack weapons so that this bug doesn't continue to affect gameplay.

making this window was tricky
it's two panes merged at about a 3/4 offset. Had to fuck around with snapping doorways to off-center stairs; many uses of tcl
it also has a large warehouse doorway existing in the same space. There are 4 wall panels in that two spaces

it honestly would have been a whole lot easier if I was doing it when I started making the structure instead of when I was putting finishing touches on

I dunno how to do that, it also wouldn't slosh around without adding extra liquid bones, which would probably take hours upon hours of troubleshooting to get working right.

Took me hours of trial and error just to get it where it is now; It blew my mind how finicky rigging certain things can be, first time I've ever had a mesh un-rig itself because I didn't have a Bgsm attached.

I've got tons of other things to polish up anyway. I'm already behind what I was planning over how long this took. I realized I need to make the plasma flamer projectile itself 25% longer, I never realized how much reach the original flamer had.

Now that that's done, about all I have left is...

I might also adjust those plasma tanks a little bit, might make them wider and shorter. Now that I look at em, they look a bit taller than the source. A lot of the things on my checklist can probably be done in under ten minutes, but who knows...I thought that about my plasma jet tanks. And I spent like 8 hours trying to figure out why they either kept crashing the game and / or magically un-skinning themselves. I may have been lying when I said I'd have this done by Wednesday, I forgot about a huge chunk of stuff I still needed to do. And I'll probably remember more as I'm doing something else. I guess I knew what I was in-for when I decided to be a one man team on this project.

They're not a major force in this one.

i wanted to avoid all of that on purpose. people who were interested in these factions could put more into it, but I pretty much got my fill from FNV. i wanted to work toward making it its own thing, and i originally intended to have the legion have some influence (essentially scouting) up north just because lore-wise they'd at least be looking around I think. I'm sure there's some way i could work them back in, but i'd rather it was something different.

bethesda's fallouts are triple A titles. they have to follow the same formulas game to game because it was proven to work before and they want to make that money

i don't have any alleigance to that. i try to avoid having to deal with a bunch of lore-breaking shit by having it take place in the middle of nowhere. i actually wanted some real depth to occur in the ghoul city because i just can't think of having really seen that before in the bethesda fallouts, pull some weird orwell shit or something, and the other factions at least have some unique qualities.

less of the factions we know, and more of factions you would want to learn about. however i would like to see fallout: Nawlins I think.
