What sort of weapon? A piercing sword or spear so you can poke from behind the shield?
Heavy Estoc or Partizan are probably your best bet, but won't put out great damage, about 300 to 380 AR for most spears/piercing swords.

You should have just enough load left for rings and a mix of light/med armor depending on your weapon.

Odds are that he may have been a powerful human, but a human nonetheless, and it was the act of unearthing him (as per Kaathe's suggestion) that caused him to transform into an Abyss monster.

At the very least, he wasn't the Furtive Pygmy. He might have been "a" pygmy, but given how they have holes in their chests and Manus did not, maybe he was a divergent offshot of pygmy that eventually led to humans. Though that would imply that evolution exists in some form or other in the Dark Souls universe.

Does anyone else think it would be nice if that released a last patch for all their Souls games that would increase the drop rate of rare covenant items a lot? I mean I can understand it being rare to begin with to help get people to play online, but after online has died, it would be nice to acknowledge that and throw players a bone.

Certain builds are just not possible/viable at SL120. For instance, remember the Vicars? All that shit was only possible because at SL170 you can actually hit 40 Str 60 Fai, with the Vig and End for combat and the Vit to wield the heavy weapons and wear the armor to go with it.

I mean, now with Projected Heal and Lightning Bow it's not that terrible, but you still have to sacrifice a lot of stats if you want to be a caster at SL120.

You also have 2 weapon slots.

Going full powerdkeg mode with Boomhammer, Gatling and Stake Dinner is a fun as fuck thing to play

What am I mad about? Beyond the time wasted doing that boring run obviously. It's not like you can defend it's shit moveset, it's capabilities might be great in PvP but that doesn't stop it from having less moves than pretty much every other weapon in the game.

Correct, it only does frost with the weapon art. A weapon art that's damn near designed to fuck of people panic rolling because, as an example, a scary bar near the bottom of their screen if filling up, or an icy mist is blocking the view of their opponent

It takes a while for the stamina part of the frost burst to wind down, during that time you'll still need to use a weapon. Which sounds more viable, a weaker than average straight sword, a weaker than average rapier, or the strongest curved sword in the game?

Also, bear in mind that the frost build up WA is still useful even during the burst downtime due to its roll catching capabilities and increased range. Which is important since the current meta values range

I know that for Guts, str seems the way to go, but unfortunately str doesn't affect swing speed in this game. The best build is actually pyromancer with a bit of str to use the gutsword 1handed. Chaos bed vestiges are the closest thing you can get to the cannon and the dragonslayer is canonically infused with dark. Also, sellsword gauntlets. The ringed knight hood or thief hood are ok if you're going for hooded black swordsman

That's exactly what I thought before I actually tried it out.

The single best thing about the weapon which makes it actually good, is simply that it is a melee weapon that can cast spells.

If you want to know just how good it actually is, there is no other way than just try it out. I got gold badge in <60 matches, even though I was sure I wasn't even going over 50/50.

You're not going to be as strong at range as a sorcerer, dark user, or pyro. This is because you have a fuckton of abusable heals, the strongest weapon buffs in the game, sacred oath for maximum summon facerolling, and hyperarmour on your spells when using a talisman WA

If the ranged miracles were any better the other caster builds would be next to pointless because they're always lose trades with clerics who can also heal themselves and rush into melee once their FP runs out due to any reasonable faith build also having a decent melee stat for the weapon buffs. It's a utility stat, and always should be

How do I improve this?
50/45 to meet stat requirements for all spells. I'd like to take int to 60 but don't know whether it's safe to drop something. Wouldn't mind raising attunement too. Worst case I might drop faith because miracles really aren't that useful with offensive ones being redundant with pyromancy and sorceries, and buffs draining too much fp to be worth it. Also not sure on whether to go with izalith or murky longstaff, or whether demon's scar is even really worth it as a melee weapon. I've tried it and it feels pretty weak.

Older players almost always think they're hot shit because they've been gaming longer, and they are much more salty when proven wrong I guess. Even in completely solo games I've seen 30 year olds get super mad over easy shit.

Anyone has experience using the crow quills in PVP? I recently got them on a low level character and in PVE they seem rather good, but in every PVP encounter I get outranged by all straight swords and I think that even curved ones as well.
