I don't understand how you have fun playing this. It's literally just clicking the opponent's stack over and over since they decided to not make it automatic, and you wait for your nation to grow. That is the gameplay in its entirety. No higher strategy, no play styles, nothing.

Depends on who you play, but build castles in the largest duchy you can. Put your Chancellor and Chaplain on Rome to increase relations with the Pope. Over 50 and you'll be able to beg for money, unless he is greedy. The more relations you have, and the more money he has, the more times you can do it for -25 penalty... but who cares really. They usually don't live long enough to do anything about it, and your relations will be high anyway if you continue to improve them. Use all that money you get to upgrade your castles until you're getting about 20+ a month. From there you should be able to upgrade your troop count and start expanding. Also use the money you get to invite a sweet Chancellor and start fabricating claims.

How get immigrants?

Playing Texas in HPM and it's 1845 and I haven't gotten a single immigrant, USA, Venezuela, and Ecuador having been getting them all so far, check them and none have any modifiers and I even have better reforms than Venezuela and Ecuador.

Been a while since I played but I remember in earlier versions of HPM I never had any problem getting immigrants right off the bat.

any tips for getting into crusader kings 2? been playing it vanilla becaue i don't have the money to get all the dlc. for some reason crusader kings 2 seems to be the hardest paradox game for me to get into even though i played a lot of EU3 a few years ago.

i always end up fast forwarding the game because i run out of things to do and it just devolves into me waiting for a claim to get fabricated or a character to get assassinated. i tried playing as ireland but that quickly went to shit as soon as i started invading england and scotland. i tried playing a duke in poland but, again, i had nothing to do. i tried playing a king trying to form rus but it was time spent fast forwarding again because i could not invade anyone and i'd constantly get raided by pagans (if i try to invade them they vastly outnumber me). i'm yet to see how the marriage system is useful because for the most part i have never seen it directly benefit me. so how do i enjoy crusader kings 2? am i doomed to hate it because it's not my first paradox grand strategy?

Does anyone know if you can pirate DLC on a linuxbox?

Well first off, pirate the DLC if you're playing on windows, it does work with the base game and if you want to be a good goy you can always buy it legit when you have money.
As far as your questions
1. CK2 is a roleplaying game. It's not entirely about blobbing.
2. Marriage is useful for claims. If you marry a princess of Poland, for example, your child will have a weak claim to the throne of Poland. It's also useful for alliances - if you marry your daughter to the Prince of England, the English King will help you out in wars.
3. Like all grand strategy games, you have to set your own goals. There is no "endgame" here.

Gsg do any of you play vicky 2 online? I was playingg it with a friend recently, and we use hamachii, and the game was going well. We rounded the turn of the century and enter the 1900s and suddenly the game starts crashing every 10 minutes. Fucking insane that we cant seem to finish the game because of this shit. Anyone got any advice on what to do?

Aight, I am playing Milan in Eu4 on normal difficulty and what bothers me a lot is how easy the AI wins sieges.

It has happened to me several times now that Venice, Genoa or Austria sucessfully sieged 2-3 lvl 2/3 castles while I besiege a single one of theirs, despite having superior numbers, generals, morale and mil tech.

Do I just have bad luck or does the AI cheat sieges on normal? Because this is fucking gamebreaking for me.

AI is allowed to move onto a province with fort, but not to move onto a province protected by a fort unless the fort is taken. But you have a fort behind your first fort. I think that's why he is able to move onto the province with the first fort, then onto the province with the other fort.
