And Tera has been around for so long, that anyone who was interested has played it already. And these new classes surges are just people coming back to get their mmo fix.

It's still not optimized and there still no housing (planned to be a lunch feature, but they never got around to it). Maybe the console release will make this game a huge success, but it probably won't.

It's the best f2p holy trinity action mmorpg for a free player, but the game has problems. And there are just too many free options for people for any game to gain traction. People keep coming back mainly because there are no new options.

The only real thing that console launch can for us besides players (which is nice, don't get me wrong. TESO is doing well because of its console launch) is game optimization. Valkyrie actually has some things to pay attention to, so it's a pretty reasonable choice and not a class that will spoil you with easy mode. The new class is total aids in 3v3, if you're against a Valkyrie with a tank or a reaper, and both players are good, you are completely fucked. I killed a 1500 rating priest in literally 2 seconds, that shouldn't be allowed.

Some misc notes about the class in pvp:

No MP troubles without any MP crystals.
Kind of squishy with griefings but very durable with indomitables, a warrior and a slayer/reaper went to town on me a couple of times and I was fine even with an average healer.
Because damage is so high with indomitables I'll probably use swift in CS/Fraywind. Animations are kind of slow and succeptable to staggers, I missed several runebursts because of the slow casting time an example. I think similarly to reaper that this is a good idea but we'll see.
Really good at soloing any class but I was only average at peeling due to the aforementioned stagger susceptibility. And I'm just bad because I forget about skills.
Dream Slash is completely OP and I think a lot of people will overlook it.

This class is annoying as hell to heal against in 3s. That isn't even half the amount of bullshit it can do. One TFT valkyri ( kira? forget name ) did something that oneshot a 1400 rated slayer even when I had placed a heal circle on him. Fun times seeing top players get dunked by randoms.

No matter how much they nerf brawlers that class still deserves a special place in hell. It was the single biggest factor that lead to MT being in the sorry fucking pathetic shell of its former self it is today. Over half of the top PvP players from Synergy and Good Fight just looked at that class and noped the fuck out.

The thing is, vanilla brawler wasn't just OP. It was obviously OP. There is not a single game QA tester who doesn't suffer from downs that couldn't tell you it was insanely gamebreaking within just 10 minutes of trying it. There is no way Enmasse and Bluehole could not have known.

What the release of brawler proved to the PvP community was that bluehole studios is full of shit. Their goal is to cater to scrubby faggot players who want easy wins without effort so that they will buy cosmetics for the class. They do not give one single shit about balance or improving Tera as a whole. They just want to figure out how to get spoiled rich korean children to dump cash and that's how K-Tera has always operated and why this game is doomed.

Server shut down in less than 3 years. Calling it right here.

I tried Brawler when it came out and I can tell you it indicated to me the exact same thing about PvE.

I hadn't played the game much for a long time before that but my favorite role was tanking because you had to be judicious about blocking and if you wanted to not eat shit for breakfast and still hold aggro. But Brawlers blocked on pretty much every attack so there was nothing there to get good at.

I just sold some Hunter's Gift Boxes yesterday. I tried to sell some more today but the the game doesn't allow me to put them into the brokerage. What's up with that?

In the sense you have to be decent at pvping to do well with Valk, I'd say it's not as bad as ninja was. Ninja you could quite literally 1,2,3,4,5 and kill the entire team when it came out. Valk is stronger but you actually have to set up combos.

Starfall +12 should be better than Slaughter, worse then Guile.
Imperator is not worth it. Weapon has same base stats as Guile, only 1 extra roll. Armor is worse (sans gloves).
Imperator is still not trivial to get, you need dozens of runs in 417 dungeons and you better have least Guile to go those.
