The Subterrors are simply shit. Their most dangerous flip effect is a single target banish. Even pot of the forbidden is better.
And it's not just Guard Dog. There is Whirlwind Weasel too.

All of which are better cards than Subterrors. In fact. I'd rather play Summoner of Illusions turbo than Subterrors. At the very least then you've got a potent and clear win condition.

Just take that into account.
Let's just say that your winning situation is having 5 (level 3) monster in field, with 1-2 of them equipped with United We Stand.
Even in that situation, they're just a beater and can be stopped easily with mundane play like 2 defense position monster.
Then you can modify your wincon into like, "clear opponent's field first, then attack with beater" or "direct attack with high-ATK beater" or "don't let opponent summon any monster then kill them with high-ATK beater"
Then you ned to take opponent's S/T like Waboku and stuff into account, and how to reach that winning situation as fast as you can, or how to survive until you reach that winning situation, etc.
You know, the basic stuff.

tl;dr don't just mindlessly putting cards together, but think about how to win with said cards too.

Well, that's one thing. Priestess is unreliable unless you either run Temperance which doesn't generate advantage and uses your precious Normal Summon, or Justice who also uses your Normal Summon and is too slow.
Also, Spellbooks brick fucking HARD, dawg. You need to open Blue Boy every goddamn game or else you're dead in the water.

Also the mill effect helps with first turn f8 so you don't have to run shitty-ass Spellbook Library of the Crescent

Is True King Dino the best way to go? I really liked using Lost World, getting tokens on my opponent and smashing everything with Ultimate Tyranno.
