People give regis a lot of shit for trying to save dettlaff, but I feel like most of them forget that regis literally owes his life to him. Oh come on, HoS is a pretty great expansion. It has some of the best storytelling in the series. Gaunter is pretty great, so is Shani. Wedding quest is one of the funnest ones and Scenes from a Marriage is pretty great too.

Besides, sometimes not seeing Triss for a while can increase the longing, making the moment you do see her all the more powerful.

I started one mostly so I can keep my potions to do an alchemy build, but it feels kinda meh.

The games take the official books as canon, that story is not that. Yennefer and Geralt aren't married and Triss' relationship with Eskel never happens in the official books. The only meaningful interaction Triss and Eskel have is her noticing how he emanates more powerful magic than Geralt, and that's about it. Triss continues to fawn over Geralt for the rest of the books and Eskel is a non factor in the story.
