Are any of the rapiers in this game good? I've never used one before, i know the estoc used to be OP in DS1. I was fucking around equipping weapons and seeing their move sets and god damn, the Crow Quills seem like such a fun weapon to use. What does that have to do with anything? The pilgrim you meet is the narrator from the start of the game, VA and all. The whole game is being told by someone who's at the end of it, that's why the ending is in the opening sequence. It isn't because the end was there at the start the whole time, you just hop into the future in the DLC because time is expected to have passed, hence why Lapp can be in the DLC while Patches is in firelink.

Just finished throwing Dark Fire Orbs at Dancer.

Yeah, Floating Chaos is the big floating fireball they summon that snipes at you. The player version only fires 3 shots and vanishes, but they hurt like shit with 40/40 int/faith so people are forced to block them or spam roll.

It's somewhat useful in PvE as well.

Running Greatsword n'Board with buffing/curing magics. Gear is as follows:

The only boss(es) you'll have trouble on with SL1 is: Aava, and Lud & Zallen
Everything in DaS2 is dodgable with base ADP except for Chariot's charge, but to be truthfully honest you shouldn't be standing in that. If you're doing SL1, I recommend the Dx9 SoFTS version and not the Dx11 one just because you can get Flynn's ring really quick.

DaS1 is really easy to SL1 just because how good bleed is. Grab reinforced club and win. Alternatively just abuse the Giant Blacksmith's Hammer and do moveset swap with estoc.
DeS is easy too because of Morion Blade/Clever Rat's ring and Enchanted Falchion.
BB is easy as well, hit chalice dungeons before Amelia and get 2 x 22.3% attack gems and a 1x 16% attack and 14 physical attack triangle gem for your saw cleaver.
BB is really easy to SL4 compared to other games just because beast blood pellets let you shit out damage.
DaS2 is just estoc until you get the stat shit from DLC and then use mace.
DaS3 is just raw ass (now longsword/broadsword) until raw Dragonslayer's Axe w/ Lightning Clutch, Lloyds, Hunter, Knight ring.

Right now I run crystal SS, soulmasses, soul GS and farron flash sword and I generally just try to get soulmasses and then run into melee range and hit them with so much soul GS/farron FF they cant dodge it all, then soulspear if they try to sip.

In invasions you basically need to be a sniper with obscuring ring. You don't stand a chance in group combat.

In duels, regular homing soulmass(crystal is too slow to set up), farron hail, dart, flash sword. Basically all the spells you can actually hit someone with that has a functioning roll button.

I tend to use homing soulmass the most and use darts for chip damage. Playing against hyper armor is annoying as hell so I basically either pull out the sage rapier and go for running attack interrupts or trade with the MLGS weapon art, though I don't know if I'll be able to do weapon art trades after the next patch. I usually have homing soulmass, old moonlight, crystal soul spear, great farron dart, and farron hail attuned, though old moonlight has been letting me down recently because the wave hitbox is actually pretty precise

Cathedral Knight UGS is really fun too, you should try it.., you can do two uncommon combos in PvP with it, 2h R1 into 2h R2 and 2h R1 into jump attack. The later is not that worth it because you have to imput it quite fast and if you misjudge your first hit you can leave yourself wide open. If you want 100% consistency stick to R1 R1 though because with latency the combos are harder to pull off (though they're still pretty consistent)
