I'm kind of a shitter who doesn't use backhops properly. I turtle more than I should, and tend to block attacks (or guard point them). I'm considering Guard+2 (or even +1), but I hear it's pretty shit at the end of g-rank.

So far up to G4 solo it's been fine. On average my kills are between 10-15 for single monster quests. Keep in mind since I'm still clearing it my weapons are rather shit since they're not fully upgraded.

Brave is definitely the way to go most of the time. It's extremely easy to build up gauge, maintains well, and works fine when you're not in brave. Definitely one of the better brave weapons. I use a wide GL right now but it works fine for any type.

I'm still in my high rank armor, but I've got artillery expert, razor sharp, guard +2, and critical eye +2/3. I would try to get the first 3 on any set you make and then whatever else you want.

Does anyone else have connection problems when playing with the nips?

And for whatever reason, I have a super hard time hitting the head with hammer or HH. It might be because of the terrain, but I always hit the arms. I don't think super pounds would hit the head like in the 3U video, unless it was a small crown brachy.

Well, let's do the math, though consider I'm pretty shit at math too.

-30% affinity with Crazy Crits means that's a 22.5% chance for a regular negative crit, dealing 75% damage, and a 7.5% chance for a crazy crit, doing 200% damage. Let's take a hypothetical (shit-tier) weapon with 100 raw, just for simplicity. We can multiply the effective raw of a hit type by its probability, then add all those together to find our average damage.

70% chance of hitting normally, so that's 100 * .7 = 70.

22.5% chance of a normal negative crit, so that's 100 * 75% * 22.5% = 16.875.

And 7.5% chance of a Crazy Crit, so that's 100 * 200% * 7.5% = 15.

If we add these all up, we get an average hit dealing 101.875 damge. That's a 1.875% increase over a normal weapon with zero affinity and the same raw. Of course, compared to not running Crazy Crits on the -30% affinity weapon, that's a 10.135% damage increase. I guess having to run Crazy Crits is made up for by negative affinity weapons having really high raw.

You misunderstand. Take a 3 man team of halfway competent GS players as a control. Then compare it to a 4 man team consisting of the same 3 GS players and an HH user using a horn with AuL. If the HH does absolutely nothing but recite AuL, that means the 3 GS players each get a 20% boost, essentially boosting the 3 man subteam's attack strength by 60%. If the HH were a competent HH user and comparable to a halfway competent GS user, the team would be like a team of 4 halfway competent GS users WITH an 80% attack boost since they're all being boosted by AuL.

Even if they do that, for some reason the clear times simply do not exceed that of other formations including GS, HBG, even IG in 4U. Similar problem in Gen and XX. They need to return its 3U strength so that its damage output is actually sufficient enough to rival things.
