If it helps at all, I too love the mace with a passion. This is just the first time in the whole game's existence that Great Mace is actually viable and I've wanted to use it for the longest time, also I love perseverance though. I mean along the lines of what you said, what do you do if someone perseverances? You get the fuck away until it's over. Which makes it extremely good to get people off your ass, and with an offhand simple caestus you can basically perseverance forever. This, on top of the poise being way better than a normal hammer.

No, no. it wasn't extreme, but if you think about it, there's a lot of BB history that isn't really delved into beyond Gehrman/the first hunters.
It's very possible that it could have been a very gentle place, and the whole setting is rather cold and dark. I mean you can technically do whatever you want, and it does get the poise even while 1 handed. But yeah, generally speaking 2 handed is better.

Honestly it's not that bad 1 handed, you know what just for you I'll test out a similar build right now just for funsies. If it helps, it costs less stamina to do 1 handed attacks so at 32 END and ring of favor you can do 5 swings in a row with the great mace. What shield do you plan on using? Like, a parry shield or a WA shield? Or just something used entirely for blocking like a greatshield?

Initial testing is actually pretty positive (SL50 +6). Your 1H attacks are this long range attack in a straight line in front of you, so you don't get the large horizontal sweep but you can really get a lot of reach (sort of like a spear) out in front of you. The trick to it I've found is using the high stability medium shield to get up in people's faces, stay right on top of them, so generally they don't know when you're going to attack.

I think especially if you're willing to 2 hand it when you're outnumbered to get ganks off your dick, it can work quite well with a shield.

Was thinking of ethereal oak shield to stack up on regens, but that one has WA instead of parrying. In the case of a mace, both great and regular, this might be alright because both have the poise WA. It sounds like it's versatile enough, though also pretty heavy for my current vit. Story deals with the return of the dragons. Just bought DS3, and had been playing it pirated until I beat Abyss Watchers. Is there a way to transfer the save from the cracked version into the Steam version? The cracked version I had was 1.03 by xatab, with no DLC, and now I have Season Pass and the newest version.

I tried the method of going to the first bonfire, exiting to title screen, and replacing the Steam save with the previous one, among other methods, and it didn't work. At most I managed to load a save that was completely random, probably an effect of the game reading the save wrong.

Was thinking of downloading an updated cracked version and trying my save there, saving again if it worked, and transferring to the Steam version, though I can't find very good torrents.

Is there really no hope left and I should just replay this little piece of the game and not be a scrub?

Lothric does look much better compared to the shitpile drangleic is.
But it's literally a footsoldier infested ant nest with guys hanging along the balcony around every corner, every 5 yards there is something standing in the way to make the place seem bigger.
Shit doesn't make sense, it's almost worthy of a comic.

Anor Londo still has those godly rays, giant soldiers, 3 man invasion, harder part with archers and demons, brosmith, best boss, black knights at the living quarters, etc.

I think i found my favorite part of the Ring City DLC, being Summoned by the Spears of the Church and becoming the Boss Fight. Ritual Spear Fragment is so much fun to use to separate the host from their friends. killing the summons and the host with an Astoras greatsword.

I'd say Lothric is actually bigger than Anor Londo: I feel like it had way more little side passages and off shoots (in the High Wall at least, if not Castle) than Anor Londo, which was fairly straight forward. I'm also more inclined to like Lothric because I prefer the big European castle aesthetic over Anor Londo's more cathedral, high fantasy feel.

You have to walk along a very thin wall towards the church.
At first i never walked up there because from my experience, anything that isn't flat is slippery as fuck and will slide you to the abyss untill you trial and error and it proves otherwise.

Then, when you walk inside, and climb up the ladder, guardians are already sitting on the beams all this time waiting for you.
They can even make retarded jump attacks into backstabs if you run past them so you're forced to kill these fuckers.

Have the buffs to bleed/poison infusions made them actually worth using? I'd just started what was going to be a hollow weapon + carthus rouge bleed build when the pre-TRC patch completely killed the idea. Thinking of going dex/luck and using blood infused crow talons or sellsword twinblades.

Also, I hear that the +luck boost from being hollow and using a hollow weapon doesn't actually affect bleed chance?

The only pyromancy you get from the farron keep swamp is Iron Flesh, hardly useful outside of gimmicks.
You do get two scrolls to give to the sorcerer guy, with a few useful sorceries.
Cathedral is quicker and easier imo. The Deacons are also much easier than the Abyss Watchers. I'd advise you yo level up a bit before fighting them and proceeding further.

Honestly the more I've been playing it the more I actually like it better than just 2 handing it like I was before. You can really get in people's faces with the shield, and the range is incredible for roll catching people as they panic trying to get you off their dick. You really don't lose that much AR (at 32 str +6 it's a difference of like 34 AR 1H vs. 2H), and actually I suggest you use a WA shield (especially BK shield like me since the stability is so damn high). The perseverance on it is fucking crazy and very useful, like ACTUALLY i think it's legit more useful with a shield than without. It just lasts so long you can perseverance and then start getting in their face and you have a pretty long time to trade if they decide to attack. Very very useful when you run into other ultra weapon or greatsword users. Strangely enough, idk if I'm mistaken but it seems like even with just 22.81 poise right now I'm poising through 2H greatswords, it's fucking weird.

Don't bother with parrying, I'm doing upwards of 600 damage per 2-hit combo with this thing. People attack and it's either hitting the shield for no damage or I trade with them or roll catch them after they attack twice and roll, I'm perseverancing against ganks and ultra weapons. It's surprising the fuck out of me, and it looks sexy af. Using pale pine resin and gold pine bundles with it atm, using chain/havel's/favor/knight's rings with just the heavy great mace and BK shield at SL50 +6.
