Continuously over-saturate the market with absolute shovelware that effectively reduces the quality of good quality games across every platform. So, NG+ Four Kings vs Obsidian Greatsword +5, Sunlight Blade, Power Within. Two-handed weak attacks deal about 600 damage which means I need to hit one king 7-8 times. How else I can boost the damage on this thing? No, Red Tearstone Ring is not an option since they can't stop spamming fucking homing arrows..

Every time I get a new game, without fail, I start to min-max. It starts off small; I look into a more optimal build for my character. Pretty soon, I'm looking into the best way to run through a zone. I constantly think about how I could improve my performance, and it prevents me from enjoying the game a lot of the time.

The prime example of this right now is Dark Souls 3. I stop the game every time a thought pops into my head about if I'm doing something wrong. I look it up, and an hour later I'm burned out from researching the game so much that I don't even want to play. I keep telling myself to stop, but I can't.

What the hell do I do to stop min-maxing everything I do?

RTSR is always an option. Just heal up as he casts the arrow. Depending on your hp, you might have to tank or block the arrow, but if you do it correctly and with the correct shield, you'll get right back in rtsr range. That's how I beat them sl1 ng+. If you're on normal levels, you can just equip havel'sX4 and not give a care in the world

You lose your Dark Sigils but not hollowing level in the next NG cycle, so if you're going a Luck build it helps. Otherwise, fashion if you like the option to look like jerky.

If you want to not waste a ring slot to not look like jerky, then Purging Stone after starting a new cycle. Altering appearance at Rosaria's also uses your current hollowing even if you have the ring on, so either you won't be able to do it as easily in the next cycle, or you'll have use Purging Stone and then fix your face, and then re-hollow before the next cycle.

Gameplay-wise, there is no reason not to get the free levels unless it puts you over the SL you want to be at. You gain access to Yuria and her goods, can piss her off for extra invasions for more loot, stay on her good side for extra summons and a gesture, and can eventually get at least one more weapon that is otherwise not available (on top of her set and weapon). Also extra dialogue when playing AoA.

The cost is, if those levels put you over whatever "meta" you want to be at, and if you don't like looking like jerky all the time (only really a problem if you're playing a female character and/or have fashion that exposes your face). And Untrue Dark Ring and Purging Stone fix that.

what's the point of using raw ass ever when the raw longsword has more AR and no faith req?

once you have enough HP to ensure you aren't gonna get oneshot, regen is really more important. Anri's is probably a better option than any other SS, not because of the regen itself, but because you can pick cleric and go 12/10+7/35+40 for 399 1H AR (33% more than a raw straightsword), a little more regen, bountiful sunlight, and some extra status buildup all while retaining your ability to buff your weapon. If you try moving that luck to dex on a sharp LKLS or longsword you'll still only get 394/400 AR, respectively, and they drop to around 300 if you try using the blessed infusion, which also removes your ability to buff. If you're committed to 35 faith, which you should be if you're trying to be the faggiest metafag possible, Anri's works out better than anything save for maybe LHS with a weaponart shield, but I don't think LHS's weaponart is worth the shitty AR now that lightning arrow exists.

Also, the 12 str on cleric goes to good use if you use the etheral oak shield, but I don't think shields are really necessary unless you're really trying to ruin a katana or crossbow user's day. Regardless, luck faith is the meta, the only serious drawback is that you can't equip a greatshield and need to use a sage ring or something if you want to use offensive miracles.

IIRC most weapons that scale with a caster stat, only scale up to 40. Your spells will be not so good compared to a pure caster with 60 stat and CSS or Yorshka's, but you can go melee.

I used to use them for raw ass but the longsword is better now. you could throw them on strength so that you could use the etheral oak shield, which gives 2 hp/s regardless of upgrade level. you could also just go for vigor. DS3 is about going to the end of the world at the end of time and witnessing the end of soulsverse. Everything is in ruins, world literally breaks down and you can't escape your mission because First Flame specifically twisted the world in such a way you end up stumbling upon Lords.

Yeah when they came up with their own "headcannon covenants" they told everyone "You gotta be sl140 to counter-gank people" so when other people invade them they'll most likely be 20 levels lower since invading has a big range upward. The whole concept of their pretend covenants was "a way to fight back against the gankers" when in reality they themselves became the very thing they hated. They'd over-level to sl140, group up, all wear specific armor (was one of the rules) and just camp areas and kill random invaders. Oh and get this, if you wanted to be in Peeve's pretend covenant, the "Bloodhsades" you had to make a bleed build and put "Bloodshade" in your character's name. With Oro's pretend covenant, you had to be a faith build of some sort. And both had "team uniforms" where you needed to wear specific armor. The whole thing in theory is kinda neat in the sense they have their own unique groups but the reason for making them was literally just to gank people with the delusion that they're "counter ganking". That would imply it's a group vs a group not them teaming up for a 4v1 like they complain about.

I liked how you had options to go, DaS2 your first boss could be: Last Giant, Dragonrider, Dragonslayer, Scorpion bitch, Rotten, and Twin Dragonriders. Where as in DaS1, DeS, DaS3, you were forced to fight the same first boss. BB you had the option of two bosses.
DaS2 offered a lot of replay value both on weapons variety and direction. Each playthrough was different. Non Dx11 version was GOAT because I didn't have to do inane shit to get to DLC. Rotten first into Shulva for Flynns was enjoyable. I love going to DLC early, none of the other souls games let you do this. BB at least lets you go there after Amelia. DaS1 requires lord vesel and DaS3 requires either 4 lords of cinder or friede.
