Nidus/Octavia here as a newer player.

Here is my question. If I play both solo 50% of the time and with 3-4 team 50% of the time I usually run nidus solo and octavia team.

Should I get Loki or Mirage as my 3rd frame? I need to start farming for a build but do not want to split myself up into 3 different choices right now since i'm new and my play time isn't the biggest for vidya like it used to be.

I have 1k platinum right now so price on loki vs mirage isn't an issue.

Also what weapons should I level for either?

Loki is better for general play due to his invis and his augment Irradiated Disarm giving him very good cc and survivabiltiy. Plus Switch Teleport can let you fuck with teammates and AFKers by switching places with them. Mirage is a good damage dealer and her blind is a decent cc but as a newer player Loki will treat you better.

Well she is pretty decent when you build her for Eternal War and focus on using melee, preferably with Naramon, but I would hesitate to call her one of the best frames in the game, if only because her 1 and 3 are fucking useless in general. She is really, really, REALLY good at one specific playstyle in particular, though, and through that, certain mission types.

I would argue against comparing Chroma to Valkyr in any way, though.

Ehh, I'm assuming counting the 600% damage buff comes from locking you out of melee and, as a result, also locking you out of invisibility, which means you're a permanent target. I'm not too keen on that personally. Stacking armour and invisibility means total immortality, permanent 800% damage multiplier on top of the combo counter and Blood Rush's crit scaling.

But I do understand where you're coming from now. Still, I find it difficult to compare them directly because, while their roles may be similar, the execution is different.

Now what I'm curious about is why you seem to have decided to go on this crusade in the first place. What was the first trigger that made you decide you had to champion Chroma over Valkyr?

I don't understand why people care so much about stripping armour. I just did a kuva fortress survival for 1 hour to level 100+ and I had 0 issues killing things, using Carrier the whole time. Is it a raids thing? Do they go over 140? Being honest I haven't really touched raids, but outside of them I find that I almost never actually have to use corrosive projection or any kind of armour stripping abilities.

Bullet jumping had a lot to do with it imo. Instead of feeling like part of the environment you now feel like you are above the environment if that makes any sense at all. Like now you just skip through the entire map with 9-10 bullet jump/rolls. Before you actually had to walk around the map and the was suspence when there was a lot of enemies because you could legitimately be in danger in hallways. Bullet jump killed that because it can save you from basically anything.

You don't always need freezing. A fuckhuge Snow Globe for slow is usually enough. Hell, you could stack a fuckhuge Ice Wave Impedance on top of that for ULTIMATE SLOW. And in doing so, you can manage multiple locations simulaneously, without locking people out of using guns and still leaving them with the illusion of contributing.

Plus that works on bosses and other special units. Stasis, not so much.
