Just a warning though, D-Shift in general has an odd learning curve and it's one of those deck archetypes you can misplay with incredibly easily, to the point that I'd say it's harder to play efficiently than Aggro Roach pre-nerf(which I played a shitton of).

Just take things a bit slow and remember that if you're going to be playing multiple spells in a turn, prioritize the ones that draw you cards. ie: If you're going to Angelic Snipe/Wind Blast a dude, but you're also going to Sorcery Cache a D-Shift, do the Cache first.
Or if it's turn 3 and you have a 1cc spell you're going to play and a Freshman Lou, play the Freshman Lou first.
There might be a few exceptions and audible choices made with stuff like Fate's Hand, but generally you just want to prioritize cards that will get you new cards in hand over cards that get played and do nothing further.

This version also has some fun/wonky "win" turn math where you're reducing D-Shift cost with 0cc Enchanted Swords.
The tl;dr of it though is that the deck definitely has an actual learning curve and requires at least some effort.

Yeah, I did manage to learn some from playing a normal version that just had Lous instead of Merlin. I ran into problems like:

Choosing to keep flame destroyer on mulligan or not. I usually didn't, but with cheaper wincons like this it should be easier to keep them.

Choosing to use a 0 cost fate's hand to boost even if you mill cards.

I know these problems aren't as simple as they look and only experience will answer them. Overall it seems easier to use so I'll look forward to practicing with it.

In my experience, the Enchanted Sword version is much more likely to brick with almost a fourth of the deck being combo pieces. The addition of Sword also makes the combo just a little bit more cerebral. The absence of Merlin makes the deck feel less consistent, especially when the spells you get from Lou+Library can be non-spellboost, and Lou+Library themselves don't spellboost your hand.

Hey guys you know how to nerf dragon? Just give Durandal indestructible effect similiar to aegis. Just this one change would make control/commander/cannon sword into a good tier while limiting what dragon can do about it, effectively improving balance and increasing amount of viable decks.

I haven't tried something like that yet. Though she costs 2, she looks inferior to Trail of Light (does not spellboost), and she's less likely to grab D-Shift than Merlin, which you need more in the original build. Also, Merlin is a pseudo ward that trades better than Lou.

It's definitely more likely to brick, but it feels like the increase in clock speed is required right now. And really I've only bricked maybe 10-15% of the time. It's nowhere near as bad as Daria in terms of bricking.

And, generally, I actually prefer Library to pull non-spell boost cards, since they'll just further the combo along.

I also think part of the problem with "classic" D-Shift is that it runs so much removal. It made sense pre-TotG since you'd almost always have things to remove every single turn, but now there are too many decks being played where they won't have anything you can actually use it all on.

And if you want more consistency from Lou you can do something like drop Wind Blast/Fire Chain for Summon Iceform/Petrification/Witchbolt/Rite of Exorcism/More Kaleidoscopic Glow, which restricts her to pull either Fate's Hand or a combo piece.

Lou is fun because you can bounce her around and she has a cute name, and Merlin provides spellboost and makes things even more consistent.

Lou fetches Blade Mage which is the only spellboost card in the deck

Mage of Nightfall on T3 should wait for T4 on draw/T5 on play to get 6 damage to the face out of it since it's only ever going to attack once

It always feels like an uphill battle when fighting any of those three decks. You basically have to pray that their hand bricked hard or that they get shit draws early on so that they can't be able to lethal you before it's over. That or you pray that they make dumb misplays so that you could capitalize on their mistakes.

It's sticky and none of the classes really have a definite answer to Prince Skeletor or 11 damage out of hand. Even Haven's amulet that banishes all followers with 2 or less defense isn't a particularly good answer since the damage from the followers has already been done.

They do but not to the point of the amount of removal the older version ran. Aegis Haven generally plays something like 3-4 followers before dropping Aegis, and they don't start coming down until turn 4 and are generally removal based, so they'll tend to hold them more often than not.

Have you tried it with x3 Lou x3 Library?
Library honestly smooths things out very heavily, and it's absolutely essential to run x3 for this version.
I started with this list, dropped the Trails for +1 Wind Blast +2 Fiery Embrace(since it felt like it needed more removal), then dropped the Embrace's for 2 Library, and eventually dropped the extra Wind Blast for the third library and dropped a Glow for a tech slot.

Running only 2 Library felt really awful and like they just didn't exist in the deck, but running 3 Library picked up the actual consistency. And realistically, unless you have a really good starting hand, any spells you play turn 1-3 are wasted with minimum spellboosts increased. So Lou/Library not increasing spellboost is mostly negligible at worst, and almost preferred in some situations.

And as odd as it sounds I have much less issues with having a full hand with this version running x3 Lou x3 Library than I was in classic D-Shift running x2 Merlin.

At this point you're literally describing about 6 completely different decks in the current meta.

So it really feels odd to be triggered by one that at least lets you know immediately that it's going to win, instead of the ones that drag your face through the mud for 10-15 minutes before dropping its form of unanswerable win condition.

I've tried running Dragonewt Fist to deal with him, but it just ended up fucking up my draws against other decks. I've just accepted its a shit matchup, kind of like Nep except nowhere near as bad.
I think the pure Frog lists are more prone to bricking though, and tend to get shit on Shadow and Haven. If they have to spend the early turns tutoring for him, that's turns they're not hitting face and buffing the Frog.

Despite the perceptions in this general, you can actually win against shadow quite solidly assuming you get to go first and have cards to play. It is also decent against forest and rune

Playing against forescraft as frogsword is like playing russian roulette.
You put down a ninja trainee or quick blader and you pray that they don't have a May in their hand, so you can make a decent turn 2 follow up.
And starting turn 5 you pray that they don't have Will of the Forest, if they don't get it, you typically win.

Frog is also great against these new suicidal belphegor bloods, because they often just put themselves into the lethal range, and we just swat away their wards with a cyclone blade and move in for the kill.

The match-up winrates aren't that far off, with some of the worst match-ups in the game involving 25% winrate for the losing deck. Test of strength works as a debuff applied to all followers on the board and any new ones that come into play. You can hear the effect being applied to them when they get summoned and there's a test of strength on board.

Aegis isn't affected by the debuff so it can attack whatever it wants.
