Is an Alucard (Hellsing) build overpowered?
I built one and despite having some difficulty with groups of enemies I can destroy damn near any non-boss in 1v1 and I don't have nearly as much trouble as I thought I'd have with bosses. I killed Amygdala in the Nightmare Frontier with 3 bullets to the head.
In PvP I'm not unstoppable or anything, but I tested this build against my friend who recently got his build into ng+ and won 2 out of 3 of our matches, his one win was surprising me with the gatling gun, but when I expected it in round 3 it was pretty easy to dodge.
I honestly was expecting a build that uses only guns and visceral attacks with some slaps from Reiterpallasch's blade to be under powered even if I am using Bone Marrow Ash and Evelyn.

Oh, yeah I should have specified I don't use BMA in pvp, mostly on bosses, my main strategy in pvp is to bait them into attacks and use the dash/trick attack of the reiter to stun them into a visceral, most of my difficulties in pvp is getting the timing on the dash trick right. I don't even use Clawmark runes, I use the best health regain on viscerals and the best bullet regain and viscerals, and the damage reduction rune but only 4%

Yes it's an overpowered strategy but little isn't in this game. It's more that it's a cowardly strategy that halts all pacing of the fight and puts it into your mercy, with or without BMA. I'm pretty sure there is not a person alive who enjoys fighting someone who does nothing but backpedal and fire risk-free projectiles for a giant payoff on the off chance they get a lucky parry.

But you knew this is how you would play. Nothing in the game limits you to only using guns; even if you only level BLT, you still have access to chikage, letter, even the snoozefest that is reiter swings, but you chose this.

Kind of yeah. Truth be told, I'm not a true proper expert on gems, but chances are you're just looking to increase physical damage, no fancy arc-scaling elemental weapons or blood damage or anything. Most of the gems found within all dungeons tend to increase physical damage and have a variety of different effects of varying usefulness. At +3, you get one gem slot, +6 gives you two, +10 gives you three. There's different gem shapes, too, but don't worry too much about that you'll find the stuff you'll need in your run through the dungeons. Once you start slotting them in, that AR number will shoot up, but do be aware that AR isn't the be all and end all of weapon damage, it's merely a good indicator of how big your damage is.

Cursed gems are always the best, found in Cursed Pthumerian Defilement and other FRC dungeons (links in OP for where to farm best best gems) but come with nerfs ranging from less damage against beasts to health depleting. That's the shit you need to farm for, but it'll get you the most damage.

Truth be told, just blast through the story chalices, by the end you'll have a fairly sizable set of gems to choose from, and you can go from there.

large multipliers and it hits multiple times in a swing. it's not a particularly hard hitting weapon even with proper ARC investment and the right gems though. The best thing about it is the range and speed of the attacks. hitting multiple times means your attacks linger so you can catch people when you free aim.

The L2 ayysplode hit's like a truck though, even invading 100+ people you can one shot them.

it's a bit of a pain in the ass to farm for. You need a good arc radial farming memekeepers in isz, a good arc triangle farming the 3 fatties and a cold abyssal from depth 3/4 HMPH. The First two I had to farm like 100 times each before I got the gems I wanted, The HMPH one is actually the easiest.

But yes, totally worth it. Parasite is the most unique weapon in the entire soulsborne series.

FRC Amygdala has easily abusable AI and can be killed in literally three hits if you have the build for it. The difficult part about Rom isn't her, it's all the fucking adds that come with her. Between being able to kill you instantly out of nowhere, having two separate ranged moves that stun you into death by either Rom's magic or another spider, and the shitty arena, Rom is a fucking nuisance at best.

why do I see so many people using the rakuyo, whats the appeal? it just seems like like a slower version of the blades of mercy with better range and damage. the spin moves is cool but it eats up stamina and can be easily parried.

look in the chalice pastebin OP, farm the mats from there. The way the mat farming dungeons are laid out means you will wind up with a surplus of all mats other than yellow backbone, since the yellow backbone farming dungeon also contains heaps of bastards of loran and stuff.

What I did was farm enough to make one FRC Isz, loran and pthu. make a save backup, create each of them, make them open, write down the glyph, make them open, then revert the save. that way I can keep the mats. As far as I'm aware once your dungeon is on the server it just needs to be used by people to stay on the server, even if you never delete the dungeon from your gravestones if no one uses the dungeon it gets deleted, so savescumming and wiping it won't matter. After clearing those three you'll get tons more mats, so I kept savescumming 3 at a time and eventually I had enough mats to make 2x of each dungeon per savescum. Saves you having to farm twice as many mats in the beginning. I now have enough mats to make like 5 of each dungeon at once if I wanted.

I really like ringing my bell at the start and co-oping as far as I can through each one without going back to the dream, clearing each dungeon 100% every room kill every enemy. Summons dying left right and center. it's satisfying as fuck clearing layers 1 to 4 all bonus rooms included without dying.

Great Ones are intelligent/wise beyond any conceivable human comprehension, but they also still follow natural instinct and they're trying to propagate their race through humanity. There are a few notes and item descriptions that say Great Ones are "benevolent" in that they do whatever you ask of them, so it's probably a perceived contract of sorts where they grant wishes (grant us eyes, ebrietas providing blood to cure illnesses, etc.) but they expect something in return, I.E. impregnating all of the human women on the night of a blood moon.

Most of the fucked up shit in the game is solely because Ebrietas got called to the planet and the church did all kinds of horrendous shit with it. Used the old blood to the point that everyone was turning into grotesque monsters, performed mind-bending experiments on random villages, killed a Great One for science, etc.

Mergo is just another child being created by the blood moon, which was likely catalyzed by something the church/byrgenwerth did because Micolash is there and he's up to some weird shit. Moon Presence probably just wants it dead as a means of population control, because the blood moon is slaughtering all the humans. Kinda like how there's only a hunting season on deer for part of the year, because you need to let the population replenish in the off-season.

It's suggested that you have to kill Moon Presence to "ascend" after eating the umbilical cords because it doesn't actually want more Great Ones to be born, but there's legitimately no explanation beyond that, it's all conjecture.

Having high discovery while you grind for gems makes chunks drop like candy, and arc builds have naturally high discovery. Plus you get the insight from killing bosses, which means even more chunks.

Alternatively, invading means every ten kills is a chunk or every thirty is a rock, and since most people that you invade in Mensis are damn-near braindead, it's a quick and easy road to many, many +10 weapons.

Arcane damage: 60+(60*.69*.03)=61
Total damage (split): 649

12 STR/ 50 SKL/ 25 ARC with two 21.5 and one 19.3 nourishing gems
Physical damage: (160+((160*.03*.2)+(160*.75*.85)))*1.215*1.215*1.193=463
Arcane damage: (60+(60*.69*.5))*1.215*1.215*1.193=142
Total damage (split): 605*
*(Not counting flat damage bonus from nourishing gems)

Difference in total damage: 44*

The difference really isn't that much in the grand scheme of things, especially if you count the flat damage bonus from the nourishing gems, which can close the gap in AR quite well so if you really want to be able to use the Hunter Tools, it's certainly viable to go 50/25 SKL/ARC. The downside to that, however, is that it takes much longer to farm gems for that build and you get slightly less damage.
