So i finished W2 yesterday, and it all makes a lot more sense when you have played the both paths.

For example i didn't even knew that Saskia was the dragon when i played the Roach path, also if you "Walk Away" from the dragon does she appear in TW3 ?

I also found it weird that i killed the dragon, but at the end Dandylion said that Saskia was the ruler of Demavend, but before the ending while i was still playing when Saskia talks at Loc Muine, Geralt gets one of those flashbacks that Stennis is the new King and that all love him Elfs, Humans, Dwarfs...

Also Roache is pretty cool i guess, he still helps you a couple of times even tho you went with the Scoiatel.

About your other observations, I don't think Yen had much choice in the matter, she was just used to get info about the Lodge. She played no role in Emhyr's plan to divide the North and she probably had no idea of his actions, capturing Triss included.

The save system of TW2 is one of the worst I have seen. I just manually choose the one I need and move other to a different folder so I wouldn't fuck up my save import and choose the wrong one. Not to mention that the game makes dozens of needles saves and that you can't overwrite old ones, it just creates new save every time.

Geralt and Triss parted ways, it is not explained in detail what exactly happened. The way I see it, Geralt got his memories back, remembered Yen, he and Triss decided to separate and he went to see where things stand between him and Yen. Of course, later he meets Triss again in Novigrad, the sparks start flying and he realizes he would rather be with Triss.

Here's a nice interview with the main writers where they mention how the break up might have looked like. I like to use their version when imagining what happened.

Yup, they have a beautiful home in Kovir, it's all warm and smelling of freshly baked cakes Triss regularly makes for her husbando Geralt. Sometimes, they head over to Toussaint and enjoy the warm weather. Along the way, the usually have many small adventures. It's a beautiful life :3

In the first game Lambert is nowhere near Vizima. They sent Geralt there because they thought he might have an in with Foltest that could help them go after Salamandra.The other Witchers go to different kingdoms.

She's a Priestess of the Cult of the Lionheaded Spider but you don't find out until later. They're into child sacrifice, torture, and cannibalism as part of worshiping their horrible deity.

She wasn't responsible for the crimes the villagers accused her of but holy fuck did she deserve what they were going to do to her for the stuff she really did.

Granted she does seem to have reformed when you meet her again at Lakeside but even so I still feel uncomfortable about having helped her escape.

One of the better moral quandries in the series though.

It is actually pathetic how Geralt suffers with this woman, if Witcher games had no options for you to chose and were according to the books this would be the most depressing game ever made.

It's actually astounding how people can even consider picking Yen, even bookfags according to that.

Literally every single person, i the game tells Geralt that he is literal dog on a leash with Yen, those who are really close to him, even those who only know them just a bit know how toxic their relationship is, Keira even said it to his face "You believe that someday Yen won't treat you like dog..." but he won't listen to none of them, mostly because of the Geenie spell, but i think it's because he's actually stupid, thank god CDPR made us his only "friend" who can actually help him in a way and have an effect on his actions.

I've never played through TW2 more than once and only ever did it on normal difficulty. Barely even remember how the combat system works in the game. Would I be in for a bad time if I jumped straight into dark mode for a new playthrough?
