By appearance again, Gobul strikes me as very fish-like, so I consider it some sort of very ancient leviathan, which is why it's separated from other Leviathan and lumped with Piscine Wyverns.

I read somewhere that Baleful Gigginox inherits it's weird electrical organs from the ancestors Khezu. Gigginox in general I think can be a fitting evolution for Khezu since it's a direct upgrade in most ways

Tigrex is said to still have a lot in commom with its predecessors and he kind of looks like Wyvernex, so that's the reasoning

In one on the MH infobooks that can be found int he wiki it described how the original shelled lizard forked into a path that would lead to the Raths and a path for hard-shelled wyverns, hence why Diablos and Gravios are distantly related. Now the illustration for the original shelled lizard it already has wings, so I figured Brute Wyverns branched out before the original shelled lizard got wings

Hellblade set overcaps Affinity (50%+30%+5%+15%+10%=110%)
Fatalis neatly reaches 100.(50%+30%+20%=100%)
Hellblade has marginally more Affinity when not striking a WE applicable hitzone, and 10 less raw when the monster is enraged (which, as far as I'm concerned, is basically 100% of the time).

The Hellblade set has marginally better sharpness by virtue of 25% faster art charging with Absolute readiness. It also (should) deal slightly more damage due to faster charging of Round Force, if Round Force is still in use in MHXX.

Hellblade is better against monsters that reliably enrage, and possibly just better in general due to the extra Round Forces, but the difference is small enough that you can choose the one that looks better or is easier to craft.

For that part I was mostly applying IRL logic, that says fish evolved into amphibians and then into reptiles. From reptiles avian dinosaurs became birbs, and synapsids evolved into mammals. The general logic I use is that certain Plesioth populations evolved for a more amphibian lifestyle, thus evolving into frogs overtime, and eventually into reptiles. I imagine some of the early populations of MH reptiles might have no reason to leave the coastal shores and the swamps, and thus adapting again for a water environment, kind of like it happened to crocodiles, which in hindsight could be a case to make Lagiacrus a predecessor to more specialized species like Tama and Agnaktor, that at some point had to migrate in-land to fill up their current niches. Thinking about it though, I should really move the Leviathan branch to appear before snake wyverns, I'll make sure to change it ASAP
