It doesn't really affect the final mission as the dead Salarian pathfinder gets replaced. The Krogan will join you in one of the fights at the end. I think if you save Raeka the Salarians join you instead. Might be wrong about that.

Saving the Captain requires having all pathfinders: Turian, Asari, and Salarian to back you up. It doesn't matter which one. I saved the Captain with all the "replacements".

But they were a lot blunter with the subject of the geth than they were with the Quarians, who also weren't in the game, so eh, I don't have much hope for it. Besides, we already have SAM as the 'I don't know about this AI stuff!" plot point, I don't think anyone would really want to have to deal with the exact same story beats leading the geth to become accepted once you learn of their humanity, there's really nothing new we could do with the geth.

Easily the best part of the game. They managed to achieve emotional tension, and actually culminate the story, gathering the whole game in one single point - the Meridian. And if the impact wasn't strong for you, then you don't really give a fuck about the game, probably. Or never wanted to in the first place.

Mostly in the gameplay and exploration element. Comparing to giantic half-empty maps and boring sidequests in the DAI, for example, they picked the path of "quality > quantity". Of course, expecting the side quests be at least on TW3 level is ridiculous, since it's bioware, but they're al least learning and trying to experiment. Not speaking about the combat since it's entertaining by default.

I was talking mostly about the crew and the tempest. Movie night scene, banters, interactions of them with you and with each other, loyalty missions, "alive" tempest. Hell, the dialogue with Drack in the medbay gave me a solid sense of the real person.
All this accumulates and makes the atmosphere around Ryder much more believable.
