Fromsoft are really good at wasting their efforts, they make a great miracle, divine spear fragment, and you can only use it in one boss fight as the boss, you can't get it as real miracle as a covenant reward when it's just a faith version of white dragon breath

What are the currently good builds? Strength? Dex? Pyro, Hex, Sorc, Faith? I haven't played since well before the first DLC, so I have no idea how things are balanced now. I had a dex build myself, so I'll also ask what the good dex weapons are currently. Don't want to start it up and learn my equipment is nerfed to shit without replacements planned.

Also, since I'm buying both of the DLC right now, I'm guessing I should buy the Season Pass and save like $3 instead of buying them separately?

We had a better FUGS that could be buffed with better Blessed Weapon (except that it consumed health), we had Second Chance, 198 full heals in inventory, a weapon with 540 AR split between magic and physical that didn't scale, the ability to literally delevel people...

/v/ will shit on it because of the whole console war thing, but it's very high quality. Obviously it doesn't have everything and there are some flaws, but it's pretty much the best bit of Dark Souls content in terms of bosses/music/new weapons.

Well I mean, the whole point of playing souls games for me was the challenge. I *want* to get my ass handed to me multiple times and really have to think of how to win and optimize my build to not get rekt. I don't want to just go into a boss fight that I've never seen before and win the first time. The more times I die, the better the boss.

Thus my favorite bosses in DaS3 (only souls game I've played thus far) are Abyss Watchers (first playthrough I did entirely blind and I accidentally skipped Crystal Sage, fought AW while underleveled and also still a noob at the game. After 14 or 15 tries I finally won by the skin of my teeth, with no estus left, at like 1 HP and using the very last of my stamina to kill him just before I would have been hit by his fire sword. I felt amazing for the rest of the day, THAT is what I want from a souls game) and Midir. To be honest Gael was kind of anticlimactic after I beat Midir.

It didn't, that meme just carried over from STR builds where 66STR on heavy weapons is now legit. Sharp gets no such efficiency and the list of good weapons which are effective on high DEX / low STR builds is even more limited than before.

If you want to hard DEX you'll end up having to use Sharp Sellsword Twinblades / Sharp Gotthards (now DEX) / Quills (now nerfed but it's not like the other options are better) / Frayed Blade. Or going DEX/caster with either Friede's Scythe or one of the new Daggers/Curved Sword flame.

That's pretty much your list, everything else worth using is better on STR or Qual. The main problem is that the other weapons which are better Sharp, and there are a few, are the weaker weapons within their class. Nobody cares that the Scimitar, Murakumo and Winged Spear are better Sharp, because those are all objectively worse than other weapons of the same type.

It's not "Useless". It's that in PvP. Great Hammers got a buff to their attack speed slightly and most heavy armor got increase in poise value that you can trade in PvP easily with them. Then "Heavy" Gem in general got a good buff that made them slightly above Dex Weapons. A 40STR Heavy Club does 395 Damage, while a 40Dex Uchi does 380 Damage. (Also slight bleed)
A 40STR Cathedral GS has 532 AR while Sharp Astora GS at 40Dex has 507. Dex being useless is a meme, just carry a Katana and Sharp Astora GS with bit of poise to handle multiple enemy situations.

Like, Bloodborne is good. But for the average /v/ poster, that isn't enough. It has to be the best, the be-all, the end all.

Honestly, I liked BB but outside of ToH it has a lot of problems. It's very similar in quality to DS3 I honestly prefer DS3 more

But because of the /v/eogaff consolewar bullshit, Bloodborne has to be DA BEST. Same with DeS. And by extension, Dark Souls 3 (Which is very close to it in quality) has to be shitty unrepentant garbage with no redeeming features.
I honestly believe that in any list that objectively rates all of them, DeS and 2 are at the bottom with 2 being the worst while the top 3 are all up for personal interpretation since they excel at different aspects.

Dex weapons are still faster, and have lower weight requirement. Anyways you few good STR stuff you can pick up early on, "Mace" Sold by Greirat. Zweihander, which you can get after sending Greirat for pillaging first time. Vordt's Great Club which you get from Transposing Vordt's Soul, and I guess a Dark Sword. Though remember to infuse them with "Heavy Gem".

Darkeater Midir is actually the least fun i've had with any boss in any souls game and i'm well over 5000 hours in the series

Its like they combined Camera beast from Bloodborne and LE SHOCKWAVE meme from Dark Souls 2 and called it a day

They have the tiniest hit frames in the game, think Vordt charge. Literally press circle any time during his animation.

But against midir I can't figure out how to do it consistently. Lots of times the rare chance I have to attack my attack or both miss and I have to wait again.

I'm using a straight sword by the way. There are times when I can land 3 or 4 hits but that doesn't matter when I can't land 2 every time because of his heas bobbing around or him suddenly pulling back.

Hell I tried a halberd and it could only hit him once most times.

no, war buff counts as a weapon buff, it cancels it out. two-handing the war banner to use the WA would cancel out the first buff anyway.

yes, stacks with SO and the rose of ariandel buff too (and all three stack together). just make sure you cast the war buff last.
