I honestly don't know, I replayed DS2 more than I replayed DS1, but archers are still the most bullshit thing that comes to mind when I think about it, with infinite poise + infinite stamina mobs at dragon aerie from DS2 being second. Yes the best Greatbow in the game + the Quakestone Hammer were dex based.

The only dex weapons in AoA were the Crow Quills, the Crow Talons and Friede's Great Scythe which is more Dex/Int. Everything else was quality.

Seems like you still have to farm that, but they increased the drop-rate. I've never really cared about any armor except for the Dingy Robes which are a guaranteed drop in NG+ so I don't know all of the changes.

This is what I thought as well. Since he's called Ludleth the Exiled, I assumes he was exiled by the other Pygmy Lords for wanting to link the fire (basically doing the will of the gods, which the Pygmies despise).

Anyone care to explain to me what makes Midir a good bossfight, aside from his theme?
All I see is a massive damage sponge unlike any other boss, the only difficulty lying in knowing where he is at any given time. Because even despite his massive size, should you lock on to him, you will inevitably lose all orientation once he flails around like the resident autist dragon of ash lake. And since the arena is so wide, you are constantly trying to catch up to him again, once he finishes his flailing or you just wasted an estus charge replenishing the health you lost from his extremely widesweeping flamebreath. And once you caught up, you will be lucky if you can chip away once at his health, before he goes for another outburst of flailing, during which your camera becomes either completely fucked and you lose half of your health upon contact with Midirs body.
Rinse and repeat.
This battle is just a war of attrition against RNG. From my experience, anyway.

I'm relatively happy I made a dark build for this DLC. By the way, Murky Longstaff still softcaps at 45int (and 45fth) for dark spells and does less damage with them at 60int/7fth than Court Sorcerer Staff does. Murky's "niche" is that it has higher damage on its melee attack than other staves do, it's pretty much the DaS3 version of DaS1's Demon Catalyst.

Depends on the catalyst you cast it with. When using Izalith Staff, dark sorceries scale with both Intelligence and Fath and softcap at 45int/45fth. When using Sunless Talisman or Caitha's Chime, dark miracles scale with both Intelligence and Faith and softcap at 45int/45fth. You can tell which spells are dark by the way their icon looks, and dark spells have a corroded scroll in their picture. Dark sorceries are Deep Soul, Great Deep Soul, Great Soul Dregs, Affinity, and Dark Edge, dark miracles are Gnaw, Dorhy's Gnawing, Lifehunt Scythe, and Dead Again.

Anyone else having trouble with the Spears covenant? I was able to invade every 30 seconds or so the first day, but now it just never happens, I tried being summoned as white phantom and it works nice a fast, but the boss was always the NPC, never a player.

If you thought the RKPUGS were bad before, wait til the new "pontiff right eye + carthus beacon" meta sinks in.

This combination melts everything I've tried it on.

Great Soul Dregs has the same tracking and speed as Deep Soul/Great Deep Soul. Yes, it has bad tracking and slow speed, but it's bad for the same reasons the others are bad which means it's still a direct improvement just for the damage alone. The hitbox is also so massive that you can reliably tag people in lag, though that isn't a good argument for anything.

I have never played a Souls game and I know a tiny bit about all that sweet Dark Souls lore.
