On paper you're right. For me however, I found myself getting far more damage output with it than other titan weapons. The Charge Rifle just never clicked with me, the MGL was far too short ranged, and the lock on time for the Archer meant I'd get a lot less shots down range, which meant less harassment or even death, though if it hit there was more damage done.

Does anybody else have really inconsistent games? By that I mean, you do really well most of the time, but you have occasional matches that are complete horseshit?

'Cause I think I'm an alright player (1.8 pilot k/d, 60% win), but today I've had such complete shit matches its almost unreal. I'm talking 1 kill to 14 deaths, into another match with 3 kills and 11 deaths, into another match with 4 kills and 12 deaths.

Just, goddamn, I have been getting fucking reamed today.

I like the thunderbolt as much as the next guy but the range on that thing did feel pretty ridiculous. Toward the end of my time using it (before I started leveling up a different AT weapon) I would literally shoot it in the general direction of enemy titans, even if I couldn't actually see them or know for sure if they were there. And it would STILL hit things. It would zap grunts, it would zap titans, it was free damage and free charge with maybe the least aim required ever.

At least now it's more like "shoot a thing near titans to hurt them" and less "fire and forget free damage orb". I haven't tried out the changes myself yet but I think you may be overreacting calling it useless. If you fire it smartly, in theory it should do more damage than before -- 25 AoE range is still plenty big. I think it's okay to not have a literal "fire and forget" weapon.

Anyone else getting lag all of a sudden playing on colony? I swear I hit an opponent with a kraber shot, blood splatter, sound effect and everything but he didn't even take damage. and no he wasn't going fast enough to glitch the game where he can't be hit properly because the engine doesn't support it.

R97, Alternator and CAR are all super cancer. Tone is the most cancerous titan (and also the easiest to use).
Hammond is the best sidearm, Charge Rifle and Archer are the best anti titan weapons.
Arc grenades are the best ordnance.
Best pilot kit is Phase Shift, then Stim. Cloak is newbie friendly. If you don't want to suck ass early on, avoid grapple, Holo and Pulse Blade.

The SMGs are the strongest class of weapons overall, but calling most of them legit cancer is a bit of a stretch. Right now, the "meta" weapons are the R-97 and the Devotion. No one talks about pistols/AT weapons. Arc grenades do see a lot of use because they're so effective against Pilots AND Titans (slow you down, scramble your vision). Phase Shift is one of the more commonly seen tacticals because it's the best tactical for raw survival; practically speaking, though, every tactical except Holo Pilot (and maybe Cloak) is good and does its job well. Tone isn't cancer anymore since she's been rebalanced a bunch of times, but she's still the easiest Titan to use by a mile, and people will still hate her for that.

Ultimately, most of the weapons are good and do their job relatively well (except the Mastiff). Just pick whatever you want and get good over time, and you should be able to style on other players soon.

At the cost of half her energy. You're sacrificing the use of her defensive options to mount an offense, at least for a little while. Remember that Ion's entire gimmick is her energy system. They've only buffed them so I wouldn't be afraid, I think the most important thing to realize is that respawn looks at game date (IE: weapon usage stats, accuracy stats, shots to kill stats, etc) and no matter what grenadiers are, at best, underused and outclassed in a 1v1 scenario by basically every other weapon if we take perfect accuracy into account.
For example, the EPG can one-shot but it has travel time, the Cold War has both travel time and wind up time, the softball has travel time and fuse time, and the SMR has travel time. In the time it might take to shoot an opponent, unless point blank, you could get gunned down.
And since Grenadiers are neither popular nor blatantly strong I would not be afraid of them getting nerfed any time soon.

Whether you agree with any of these or not, it is not surprising that each one of these is responsible on varying degrees for the retention of players Overwatch has. It has a flavor of cancer for every different type of faggot out there.
Titanfall 2 is very barebones in that regard, and while I'm not really interested in any of those except proper private lobbies and unranked matchmaking so I don't always get paired vs ADVs that stand no chance I still think that Titanfall 2 could learn some things from other games.
No matter how much you and I dislike it, the Quake 3 or Quake Live model doesn't work anymore, now people want unlock marathons, they want RNG lootboxes, they want shiny cosmetics to show off, they want bullshit and more bullshit because EVERY SINGLE GAME OUT THERE is competing for their attention, every one of them. And the games that fail to attract and keep that attention simply lose their playerbase and die. I would know, all the games I loved died because of it, because the skill curve was too steep and the games didn't make it up with unlock marathons or newbie friendly matchmaking.

Now the question is, do you want a good but dead game or a mediocre or shitty but alive game?

Not as much. Baseline shield is now 4s (up from 3s), and the Inferno Shield kit still brings it up to the 6s it originally was, so it's not as dramatic an improvement now. Plus, Fuel for the Fire (his Firewall kit) is tweaked to reduce the cooldown from 10s to 8s. Scorch has more attractive alternatives now that Inferno Shield isn't required anymore.

once i got all the camos and patches, i finally got an execution. it is random, but it will help if you buy all the camos you can with credits so you dont risk getting those as advocate gifts.

Why not just buy the executions with credits? It's only 300 credits, the amount of credits needed to purchase all the camos to eliminate them from the random advocate gift is waaaay bigger than just buying the executions outright.

From what the PS4 players have said, the creator of the PS4 network doesn't have a PS4 so they can't kick/ban redditors, kids and other randoms that join. Apparently tfg is one of the first networks that appear on your list if you filter for "competitive" oriented networks. So a lot of randos just join it.

This patch honestly feels lacking

i mean if it's just cosmetics who cares about loot crates, it's all optional

when it gets to the point where you basically have to roll the dice or grind for hours upon hours to get new weapons (which is what TF2 is basically like unless you get help from a player, and it's weird that to get a weapon conveniently you have to buy it from a player)
