How do subscriptions work? I'm about to resub for the first time, and I was told that I can keep paying the cheaper intro fee that only gives me 1 character per server. What happens if I buy the more expensive one that lets me have 8 per server and make a few on the same server, but then go back to the cheaper one? Do my characters get deleted? Or is it just not possible?

So I can't make an alt account on the same email, and because they didn't give me a registration code (the free trial shouldn't require one but nothing was sent my way email-wise either), i'm now locked out of the free trial due to Square-Enix's draconian efforts of keeping former subscribers from mooching.

Nah the thing is with this game is that you don't need to make a new character because you can be everything on one.
You're missing like everything after 35. 1-50 is like the tutorial of the game. 50-59 is like the introduction level after the tutorial. 60 is where the game actually feels somewhat interesting to play.

the HW jobs are independent of classes completely, however you cannot be one until you've entered ishgard in the story quests, which wont happen until you're around (as a new player) level 54 on a single job

You're going to notice zero difference once they become just health bars to drain.

Quests are no different, everything blends together at some point where you'll be sent to other parts of the world anyway.

Race and stat points make zero difference and stat points could be removed without any impact.

Just pick whichever you like most. Makes absolutely no difference to anything in the long run.

Every time I log in lately my screen goes black then recovers and I get this message saying that my graphics card recovered or whatever. It's only this game that this happens and nothing else. I am playing in windowed and changed the TDRdelay to QWORD and set it to 8 seconds but that does not help.

If by "different experiences" you mean anything completely different, then no. You'll get the same bland and slow lead up to nothing once you hit level 10.

Once you're 10, it throws you out and you do whatever you want.

Only thing that will be different experience wise are the classes themselves. Each class has it's own specific story for it's quest-line.
