How do I do a better job of carrying as Reinhardt?

I'm trying to crawl out of gold and I do a generally good job of being better than the other reinhardt but more often than not I can't depend on my damage to clean up while i'm trying to navigate around the other teams tanks.

Perhaps you getting tilted is causing you to play worse. Every player on your team deserves their rank just as much as you deserve yours. If you saw a junkrat on the enemy team you wouldn't automatically assume an easy win, so you shouldn't automatically assume a loss when the junkrat is on your team.

Focus entirely on your own play. You cannot control how your teammates play. You can only control your own decisions. Blaming your team-mates for your loss will get you absolutely nowhere at best and will lead to a losing streak at worst.

The only surefire 100% way to climb is to constantly critique yourself and ask yourself what you could have done better.

I've had people tell me I did "no healing" in games when at the end they see I had 19k some odd heals through the match.

They are also typically people who run off on their own out of line of site and get in over their head, or complain that when I am the solo healer on the team that I'm not just pocketing them and ignoring everyone else, but it happens A LOT.

No other tank can completely deny a nano'd roadhog the way d.va can.

Well roadhog plays like a DPS, so I don't think you'd get too much out of learning him.

IMO you should learn a different role/type of character.

soldier is a front line sustained damage dps.

I'd recommend learning a tank/support as you will learn way and become better at overwatch than if you just learned another dps.

Rein is __THE__ tank and plays like no other hero really.
Zarya is still tanky but she does melt people when charged up
Winston is a fun mobile tank but is very situational
D.va is similar to winston but more aim and more blocking rather than face-tanking

If you __must__ learn a dps, I'd say learn a flanker like tracer/genji, or a projectile hero like hanzo/pharah.

There was a player I saw a video of that got banned for tanking his SR. He just repeatedly threw matches until he was down in Bronze and people in Bronze are beyond retarded. A Reinhardt just didn't know what to do with a Symmetra and her sentries.
I'm hoping I don't get banned because I do throw the occasional match but the majority of the threats come from shit-for-brains teammates that blame their own shortcomings on me picking Symmetra. I'm sure Blizzard can just look at how many hours I have on her and the sick-ass plays I've gotten.

I think the problem I'm gonna have is that I'm so much better at soldier than I am at any other hero. Except maybe D.va but she's not that good. I would have to burden my teammates with average play on anything else.

I play rein sometimes but I feel like I'm shit because of my shitty winrate when playing him. I could give zarya a go considering I have good tracking.
I feel like roadhog is a high impact hero, especially if you can land good hooks. So getting good would be worth it. Problem is where to practice without feeling bad if you play like shit because you're learning but also wanting the game to stay competitive.

I only get to play tanks and healers
Everyone always istalocks DPS and expects to just run in different directions unnoticed and wipe out six people
I would love to play some 76 or Reaper. The closest I get is some Symettra on defense if I get the occasional single healer and single tank combo and I just cover the point in turrets, shadow the tank, and have my teleporter up for the healer to get back quicker.
Originally I place gold, only 30sr from Plat a few seasons back. I'm okay with that. I feel a bit above average. I'm no pro. I thought I could fight to plat and be happy with the achievement

I dropped to almost silver
Then I placed silver next season and stagnated
Then I placed bronze this season
My last two placements were with a Rein who ran away from a 1v1 with Lucio and shielded himself in a corner and died to that Lucio
And then a game where I gave up and picked Zen on KotH and the other five just picked DPS. Everyone yelled at at everyone else to switch. And then stormed the point one at a time like they were being called in by numbers. I switched to Zarya to try and do the best of both worlds, tank and save them during key moments from taking massive damage.
We lost. It was, as I am told, my fault
But this season I was not to be deterred. I started insta-locking Rein, Zarya, and Hog
And proceeded to win the next 10-15 games in a row over the next few days. I laughed when I hit Silver thinking "well shit now it'll get harder for me to clear a team of idiots when they run into a tank protecting his team"
No. Why would that happen?
Again I didn't lose any matches for those three days and walked right into gold thinking the same thing that I would get rekt'd
Then in mid gold it happened
A game so baffling and enraging I don't even know what happened.

Attack on Gibraltar. I picked Rein, we had a Lucio and, I think, at some point, a pharah, a junk rat, a mei, a Genji, a bastion, and Torb, a Widow, a Hanzo, a McCree, a Reaper, a Symmetra. I don't remember a 76. I tabbed a few times to try and keep up with the comp but I know we never got another healer or tank and we never made it to the bottom of the dip after the first turn. My shield would disappear on the way out the spawn door to the payload. I would get to the payload, use it for healing, take some pot shots with my firestrike around the payload while my shield recharged and then get it back up; swinging my hammer at anyone stupid enough to cross to my side of the payload
My team is screaming at me in voice chat to do something. I'm not sure what. They keep circling around the left side of the building and up the stairs on the right to get around the team and die to the ball of death on the other side. I ask them to group up. It never happens. I'm yelled at to push forward
What can I do?
I charge, I swing, I shield to distrupt those that backed away to shoot me and firestrike them. I hammer down and pin-kill the mercy that I caught in the cracks. I killed five of them before I saw a friendly silhouette and I died to the enemy Rein. They got him, I guess. Kinda hard not to, I feel. But I respawn, walk out the door, and around the corner to a stationary payload. My team has run forward to ?spawncamp? I hop on the payload as their team decends from the catwalk above and starts this whole stupid thing over again. I am beyond frustrated. I'm being cussed out in voice chat and I leave the channel. We lose. The payload is back to the first turn. My second and third hammer downs were unimpressive as I lost focus to just pure desperation and despair
I'm told to kill myself in text chat and never play the game again as the DEFEAT pops up
They've all left before my PotG is done

What is SR? These are the people I fought to catch up to? I wouldn't be so frustrated if I knew it would consistently be like this. Why won't people adapt when faced with a losing strategy? Why won't people play tanks or healers or stack a second to help out if they need to? It's not TDM. You have to survive on a single point to win. Diamond, PC - is anyone seeing more throwers this season? It feels harder to climb to me, and that's fine I guess, but it really feels like lots of people have dropped 500+ SR and are throwing matches out of spite. Ive lost 4 games today and 2 have been blatant, out of the gate throws, 1 had a genji that refused to change off(which I have seen A TON of this season.)

Im just having a really hard time having fun this season, very toxic teams, mostly in-team fighting, lots of throws, people in team chat refusing to listen to people.

Again, Ive just had a very hard time having fun this season. Really starting to drain me. Last season was cool, I ended up climbing over 1000SR, and I dont expect to do that again, I just wish I wasnt losing games all day.

Not trying to say me ooga team booga, I just mean it feels like people are taking comp less and less seriously, and beginning to see there is very little consequence to throwing matches, or not cooperating, or being toxic.

I played a few rounds in comp with this dude in bronze in a duo-queue to play in gold who ONLY played Sombra. Had her golden gun
Was annoying vocal in voicechat about needing additional Tanks and Healers but would never switch. Constantly saying the reason the team was doing poorly was because of comp. We lose.
Next comp match I'm against him as I assault Vol. I pick Zen. He has a massive hard on for me. Finds me, wrecks me. I'm starting to feel dumb for doubting him. We get the first point and start pushing to the second. He's waiting for me around every corner. We barely get the point. And we switch to defense. I go Hog.

Blizzard has stated that they don't want heroes to have overlapping kits. It's pretty hard to have a hero as impactful as say, Lucio and Reinhardt without having overlapping kits however.

Lucio's nerf might change some things up though.

to be fair, theres probably more females than anyone realizes but they just don't use comms due to repeated negative experiences from revealing their sex in multiplayer games.

like the two i had on my list were chill and were legit solid, if they put in the time and got more confident they could climb much higher than their rank, its just the vocal and obnoxious ones that put this stigma on female ow players

i don't get it. i mean, i get being frustrated when you have 4dps an offtank and a zen, but its qp, it doesnt even matter. if you get that bothered by team comps im qp, then just pick whoever you want to improve with and just try your best regardless. idk i don't get people tilting in general, or rather i get it but just cant relate at all. you can turn anything into a constructive situation, getting mad and throwing hissy fits accomplishes nothing and if anything detriments your ability to reflect and improve yourself

nah. i've played with at least two dozen females in OW. they're selective to avoid said stigma. but they still play healers. well, two played reinhardt and zarya respectively. but the other fourteen played healers. the MMO prejudice is based on reality.
