Hey, lads! I'm making a new mod for EU4 which revolves around an alt history scenario where there was a civil war in South Africa in 1994, following the Bophuthatswana crisis, in a timeline where the AWB never attended said crisis and so never dissuaded Constand Viljoen from the notion of civil war to achieve an independent Boer state in South Africa. The mod will start with the breakdown of talks between the ANC and the government over transition to majority rule.


The states you'll be able to play as include:

Volkstaat: Consists of few white villages in Oranje and Gauteng, they're weak at the start but can grow to phenomenal strength.

AWB: This is an extremely difficult run, but in my opinion the most rewarding. You start off with one province, Ventersdorp, where Eugène Terre'Blanche was born and a strong base for the AWB. Of course, the majority of your population is black and will resent your governance, but you can fix this.

The government: Basically just an irrelevence in the Cape, this is who you start as. It is possible to prevent civil war, but only by concessions to the Afrikaners, which brings international sanctions.

What you can do as the different states is where the fun comes in:

The Volkstaat's aim is simply to hold Transvaal and Oranje, If you manage to seize land outside of this you can set up Bantustans for the natives and move them there.

The AWB can put blacks in "temporary camps" which is a euphemism for concentration camps. If you do this and win then foreign powers may invade you.

The government can either reform or not, Apartheid is crumbling at this point though so it's a huge upheaval to enforce it.

As the MK you basically just act like niggers, you can go town to town killing whites, looting for small arms, seizing white farms, eating what you need and burning the rest.


The reason I chose EU4 for this is because it's the only moddable game.

Please help, I decided to play as France in EU4 so I could have a nice comfy game. I followed the Italian Wars decision/event lines to take control of northern Italy thinking there'd be a preset event causing it to come crashing down but didn't so now I control half of Italy, I won the colonial race for Brazil and now I just inhereted a PU with Sweden who had blobbed all of Denmark and most of Norway.

I can't seem to stop succeeding, what the fuck do I do this is no fun.

I want to declare war on Hungary for a couple of counties, their troop count is a bit lower and I've got money. However, they're allied to the HRE which would surely fuck me up if called into the war. So I went ahead and formed an alliance with the HRE as well.

Question is - which side will the emperor join? Hungary's, since I'm the aggressor, my side, since the emperor has a higher opinion of me, or neither side?

Hello, everyone! And welcome to the first developement diary for Victoria III, today we'll be talking about the map in Victoria III and the changes we've made from Victoria II for the new release.
In Victoria II the map was boring and wasn't very helpful so in Victoria III we've merged the political and terrain map modes together so that it's easier to see what time of year it is without having to look at the date.

We haven't changed everything though, the game still has it's great power system, allowing you to see which nations are the most powerful and which nations you need to defeat! More often than not these will include the three main countries in Victoria III, Ryuku, Ulm, and Jan Mayan, this is a big change from our railroaded and uninspired Victoria II which just used to follow a single path. Now every nation will be able to become a GP if they complete the "become GP" focus, which requires you to build 20 industry, but more on that later.

You'll also see on the map how weather matters much more now, and you never know how it'll be. In Victoria II it only snowed in cold countries which was very racist and railroaded, so we made it so in Victoria III it will also snow in desert countries and Europe can become desert if it doesn't stop being misogynistic cis white males and embrace liberal socialism.

Liberal socialism is the combination of Liberals, socialists and communists, in Victoria II there were too many political parties so in Victoria III we've streamlined it so there are only two, reactionaries and progressives. Having too many reactionaries will make you technologically backwards and having progressives will make you advanced, Europe starts reactionary and Africa and Asia start progressive, to represent the technological advancement their diversity brings. Europe can embrace diversity to get the technological advantage the rest of the world gets though, but they need to have a revolution against the reactionaries who rule all of Europe in 1836.

One of our major complaints with Victoria II was how needlessly complex the industry was, which many players on /r/paradoplaza and the forums found too confusing, so in Victoria III we've streamlined the industry so instead of the way it used to work factories are now individual buildings that you place in the provinces manually than give you industry power and some money per day.

Industry power is the most important feature of the game, when a player gets 20 industry power he becomes a great power, which allows him to stop being a reactionary and adopt progressivism. Progressivism is a mechanic that allows you to become a utopia, but it's very difficult to properly achieve. If you get less than 50% white culture provinces you will become progressive which gives you huge tech bonuses, but at the start of the game you can't simply let non-whites in because you're still ruled by reactionaries.

Having more industry power makes your country more open to immigrants, which gives you more progressivism, the perfect country is a globalist, internationalist, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural utopia, if you get to this your industry power will skyrocket at your cheap third world immigrants will allow your Jewish upperclass to get more money, the white population will naturally resent this but through radio propaganda and supporting communism you can kill all these reactionaries.

Reactionism as a political party replaces conservatives, reactionaries, anarcho-liberals and fascists, as these are all inherently reactionary ideologies. If you don't lower your reactionary bar then your people will become too homogeneous, start inbreeding, and become racist to all people unlike them. The Jewish upperclass are reactionaries, but as they promote the globalist internationalist agenda amongst your reactionary pops, turning them into useful idiots, they are a helpful building block in creating your utopia as their racism is targeted at whites, NOT the minorities you want to bring in.

What goals?

Technology has been reworked in the game, so instead of you needing literacy to research more things you instead use smart power. Smart power is increased through doing smart things, like buying more DLC, completing positive steam reviews and verifying your purchase of the game through our official forums. It's impossible to get full smart power as we keep releasing new DLCs but provided you keep buying them your smart power goes up.

You can lose Smart power through doing stupid things, like criticising our games, posting on /gsg/ or buying Gary Grisby's War in the East. The less smart power you get the more laggy your game will be, eventually shutting down and needing to repurchase it for the minimum 10% Smart power you get from buying the game.

There is also a mobile micro-transaction clicker game we have coming out with Victoria III to increase your Smart power on the go, 10 SEK (the app only works with Swedish currency) will increase your Smart power by 2, there are discounts if you buy these combat packs in bulk though, so 100 SEK gives you 50 Smart power, which allows you to conquer Ulm and Jan Mayan, which is usually reserved for players who order the "good goyim" version of the game for 6,000,000 SEK, so whatever the case you can weigh up your options and see which is the best deal for you, remember, you don't have to buy them so you have no right to complain about our pricing.

If you get 100 smart power then your technology level will get all the way up to African, which is the highest possible level in Victoria III, once you've done this you will instantly become a kingdom and become an unstoppable powerhouse akin to 14th century Mali under Mansa Musa. There's an achievement for getting this but it requires you to buy either the "believable worlds" DLC or higher.

You can't buy Smart power in the game, because that would be too railroaded, instead you need to either get them on Steam or send a cheque directly to Johan's mansion home in Tel Aviv.

The way military works in Victoria III is different to Victoria II, Victoria II was extremely euro-centric in that all the white countries, including the ones not in Europe like America and Argentina were more technologically advanced than the rest of the world, particularly Africa. So we've overhauled how it works in relation to the continent.

Now Africa is the highest technology in the world, followed by native America, then Arab, then Chinese, then Japanese and finally White. (These are the 5 cultures in the game, but we may add more in our next DLC) White are the lowest as they have the most reactionism in the world, which makes them dumber. From the start their literacy is rock bottom but if they have a progressive revolution they can get up to Arab levels.

Turkey starts in a unique position, they're half White and half Arab. If they choose to try to become White then their literacy will plummet to White levels, but if they choose to embrace their Arab roots then they'll get a huge boost which allows them to flood Europe with Arabs who will make the stupid White pops there smarter.

Any culture will become smarter if they allow women into their armies, because this means the female population, who have bigger brains than the idiotic men can help the men to stop being so stupid. It's very hard to complete this mission though as men are drawn to feeling faux superiority due to their phallic organs, any male society that does accept that women are equal do get huge bonuses though, and because the women are so smart they don't let the men become dumb again because they use their superior brains to divert the nation away from male supremacy and towards a better future.

African tribes will civilise and can then colonize Europe post 1880 if Europe is still a reactionary white cis male society, the Africans will bring rocket technology to Europe which depending on how the Europeans respond (usally with hostility) can either be used to found NASA or to kill whites.

We've also been working very closely with Steam and the EU counter terrorism authority to help stamp out cyber hate crime. Players found attempting to mod the game or even playing mods designed to promote White supremacy will have their IP adresses, name, age, measurements and thought crimes sent to the respective policing agencies to ensure the game isn't used as a tool to spread extremism amongst teenagers who may be susceptible to fake news.

Players who don't try to do this shall receive money from the fines right wing players have to pay when they are inevitably caught. You can then use this money to buy more DLC from us. Our schedule so far is to release a new cosmetic DLC every week, a new gameplay DLC every month and a new music DLC every day. Anybody who pirates any of these rather than buying them legitimately will have their steam account banned and legal files brought against them. That's all for this week, folks!

I attacked novgorod and odoyev at the same time, odoyev was guaranteed by hordes, took some provinces from them, about half from novgorod, all of odoyev. Tver and ryazan were allied, so that was an easy one war.

I took the mission to take Kazan, took all but three provinces in the first war. Crimea was relatively easy, as he attack horde after I did, so his manpower was low.

There are a lot of useful projects that only take about a week of hobbyist-level effort, so I try to stick to those.
A lot of projects are just too big for one person to do without years of devoted work, but it should be obvious if you are undertaking something like that. Unfortunately bringing in more people rarely works for an unpaid hobbyist project, because even as the number of manhours required per person goes down, the likelihood of someone giving up increases.

I think one unmotivated (like myself and presumably you) person can undertake a big goal if he can break it down into small enough chunks that still provide gratification though. Like for example you could probably manage to make a major mod to a GSG if your idea was suitable for being broken up into several small minimods that you could pick up and put down working on at your leisure.
