Wildcat can be silly. There are some debuffs that are way too nasty to be left unchecked, and it lacks a little tact, but unlike this anon >>172245683 says, it's not worse than vanilla. It's just, different. Health is different but the same in the fact that the first half of the bar goes down slowly and the second half evaporates but ultimately you still sustain the same amount of damage assuming injuries aren't involved. Low stamina is punishing, but not so punishing that you need to chug stamina potions immediately to survive, but enough that more aggression would be punishing. It's modular enough to disable every feature except for one feature, which is good. It's not as impactful as other combat mods, meaning it plays nicely with Ultimate Combat, which is a great combat mod you should always have but is too insignificant to be described as anything other than "improved Vanilla." Just being different from vanilla might be enough to warrant some usage, but it's not phenomenal.

Vigor is another mod you might hear suggested. Armor makes you slow and arrows will fuck you up. Losing stamina makes you slow and take more damage, making arrows fuck you harder, and punishing you for approaching an archer quickly. Jumping takes stamina, which is a welcome addition, but nothing regenerates at a speed useful for interesting combat, unless you want Skyrim to turn into a cover-based game. Mages will also fuck you sideways, given how they've powerful projectiles, aren't inhibited by any stamina constraints, and aren't slowed down like you are. If you play a melee character, Vigor is a French Knight versus English Longbowman simulator. If you like the idea of the hard, slow, arduous combat of WWI trench warfare turned into a medieval setting in dungeons and crypts, great. If you want fast combat, don't use it.

Studded armor is actually derived from brigandine or a coat of plates, where rivets held in place smaller overlapping metal plates underneath the leather or whatever material.
These rivets are often mistaken as the actual armor and called "studs". This set up however would never offer you any real protection.
I have never seen bracers represented in legitimate historical texts or imagery either, but I'm more iffy on them.

Given how the other anon referred you to me and I kind of defended it, let me tell you why people (and I) aren't exactly keen on it.

Injuries can be stupid. Really stupid. It's not something as simple as "take double damage" that smarter play can circumvent, it's something that is immediately threatening that you pretty much need to deal with immediately or die. Are you a mage? Pray you just get hurt lungs and it's your stamina that drops 10 points a second, and not a head injury that drains your magicka 10 points a second. You got a gut injury? You better hope the same attack that gave you that injury didn't also send you below 50% HP (that's highly likely, given injuries by default activate below that amount), because if you're below that amount of health you start losing 5 a second, so if you do not have a potion, food, or a healing spell on hand you can be immediately and thoroughly fucked. Spine injury? You become paralyzed below 20% HP, and only curatives can save you. These injuries that are bullshit, they also apply to enemies. Say you inflict a gut injury onto someone? You can just kite them and watch them bleed to death, so sometimes it's not so fun. But sometimes the stupid can be fun; occasionally you'll break an enemy's spine and he'll just fall over, paralyzed, unable to fight any more. Enemies don't have health regen, so he's stuck like that forever. I like to leave them there, at that point.

But yeah, tl;dr Wildcat's silly and expects you to have items to heal yourself, and will occasionally fuck you over with injuries, and stunlock if you don't turn it off.

I prefer it to Vigor because Vigor is a slog that makes health over time items like food not heal at all, making soups useless and removing the purpose of the items. Vigor's also balanced around Adept Vanilla settings; Wildcat is flexible enough to not bust your balls at making enemies stronger, but Vigor will kill you in Embershard otherwise.
