So for katana bravers I think I found out some bullshit. Not sure if people knew this already, I might just be slow.
But say your main weapon is an Astra katana, and you also use an Orbit for PP regen. Then you counter with Astra, get the S-ATK bonus from katana gear, then switch to orbit. Your S-ATK bonus from gear will lower EVEN IF YOU SWITCH BACK TO ASTRA. Switching to a weaker katana for even a moment will lower your fucking S-ATK bonus so you can't even use the PP regen from gear and stack it with Orbit without fucking yourself over.
Although sometimes if you counter again with gear at like level 3 it will give you back the S-ATK, but it's still bullshit.

Go into a field with 2 katanas, one of them being weaker, build up gear, then counter. Switch between them and you should see your bonus drop for the stronger one when you switch back to it. They're more of a mobbing weapon but they're still good on bosses that TDs have trouble staying on and knuckles only really get to shine on immobile enemies. Most of the PAs are good (even if some are only really used as TAJA filler). To block you need to put a point into the skill under DS gear, it lets you block with the weapon action. Most have a use but your bread and butter PAs are Chaos Riser, Deadly Circle type 0, Illusion Rave, Tornado dance type 0 and Acro Effect.

What weapons drop depends on which area you do. For example, Blue Talis will drop in Volcano but not Forest.

The system has been in place for less than a week, no one knows anything about it and anyone claiming to is full of shit. The parser was a different matter. They never explicitly mentioned the parser, just vaguely mentioned third party tools (which admittedly was 95% probably the parser). The problem is that anyone who knows how the parser works knows that you wouldn't be banned because of how it interacts with the game. The only people being banned are people publicly talking about or posting screenshots of it with identifiable information. It's the same deal in FFXIV. Square claims using a damage parser is a bannable offense but nothing happens to people using the more intrusive addon that exists in FFXIV. The only people they ban are people who talk about it. The main goal is just keeping tryhards from bullying casuals over damage meters.
