she gets captured by the mafia pretty easily when Ms. F isn't around, so it's not like she has any special powers to be able to defend herself effectively
unappealing anatomy, her arms and legs get thicker toward the end like Popeye instead of the other way around, which just looks strange. It's like she does a lot of weighted pullups in her spare time but she still comes off as a physically weak character

minette's good points are that she is a fishgirl and a waitress. The fish part makes her exotic and the waitress is a trope much like the magical girl but not nearly as appealing. she's supposed to be a princess too, but she doesn't really act or live like one, and all her hundreds of brothers and sisters are royalty anyway but still work like commoners so she's not unique from them. Her design is cute like Annie's aside from the weird limb proportions but she definitely doesn't have the same overall appeal which is why she didn't make it into the game

Nancyfriending is subtle and healthier for the community. Titshipping is much more obnoxious and in your face, and sometimes brings out the worst in people both for and against it. Nancyfriending is also easier to produce, mostly just palette swaps and coloring of existing images of Parasoul where as titshipping requires much more original content and trickier edits which doesn't do justice to, and in fact usually butchers, the original image.

Bella hasn't changed too too much. She's still a grappler with no weaknesses and every tool she could possibly want and more.

I learned that a long long time ago, Cerebella could dash after Dynamo, which is fucking insanity. Midscreen Dynamo conversions, oh baby.
She used to have Pummel Horse assist and a hitbox on reflector which sounds like fun.
I don't think she's got many other changes, just like damage tweaking like the recent jHP scaling nerf.

I started playing long after most of these silly things, though.

Friend of mine got me playing Under Night Inbirth last night. I tried a bunch of characters and played Akatsuki a couple of rounds. Dig the fighting style and I'm wondering if that is how pic related would play? His normals feel limited but he has some nice chains. Also the military tools like the knife and stun gun.

Yeah, I'm the adam fan from the last thread. That one guy asking me what his appeal was, as well as some play time with Akatsuki got me rethinking the concept.

I really do find a lot of merit in having a 3-in-1 character and looking at how that would affect design I come back with Adam having probably the most level 1 blockbusters of the roster. Assuming meter would have to be spent for anything revolving around buffing the next Egret (I have some thoughts as to how that could articulate beyond just a damage boost) and the sacrifice move that I'm pretty sure has to be a grenade swan dive into the opponent. Also having a character you can deliberately give some "normal" looking moves creates a nice contrast as I found out with Akatsuki. My friend was playing this berett wearing female who fought with wires and pistol gloves, very fast and fluid, but Akatsuki had this almost rote look to his moves. Not basic martial arts but very deliberate and more realistic motions for his attacks as opposed to the more fluid and stylized attacks from other people.

Plus thinking about what could be done to differentiate Adam the character from the other Egrets, as well as differentiating them slightly, all while keeping to what I remember being a chief design concern which was recycling as many of the body frames as possible. I know he's not at the top of anyone else's list but I'm hoping that L0 gets around to him eventually.

My biggest issue with his commentary is that he feels like he has to dictate everything that happens onscreen. We know Fukua is incoming. We know Fukua got a hitconfirm with jumping jab. We saw that the reset was blocked. You don't have to tell us this, we saw it. Instead he could try discussing the players' options, who's got the advantage, and why the players are making the decisions they're making instead of essentially narrating a Skullgirls match for the blind.

Sometimes he's just straight-up wrong about what he's saying, like earlier he said that he DHC'd to secure the kill when really it was so the first character would get some health back and they had enough meter that it was worth it, or when he said that a character went for a reset when the combo was still going.

That's not as big of the issue I have with his commentary though, it's just his constant narration that doesn't add anything to the match.

When I've talked to him before it was through Twitch Whispers and Twitter. I know he's asked on Reddit too though. Try messaging him mid-week.

He was really raw back when I talked with him. He was eating on cam, sliding away from the mic, just a bunch of obvious first time streamer stuff.
He's fixed all the stuff that reeaaally bothered me since then, and now I'm just content to see how things go for him.

Before LZ adopted Umbrella's salty personality, her shtick was being a basic bubbly cute loli with a gruesome weapon.
Of course Hungern was awesome, but Umbrella herself looked pretty flat and predictable.

But today we can project a little more of that bitter edge into her sketches and get inside her head more.
Now we know her cute smile is more than her being a plain naive little girl. She can also be cocky, snide, or just playing dumb.
I think she's a much more interesting character today.

I think she's always been a bit bratty given how she acts in Parasoul's story mode but yes, in the aftermath of the IGG and the adoption of her as the 'Salt' mascot character she sticks out more from the other two.

I still have no idea how she would really play. But since Hunger would play into it this is another character I feel would benefit from an overhauled UI so that a custom meter could be included.

I've always felt like it was either the result of something conspired against her, or something she planned that backfired.
And that's why Samson doesn't want to clue her in on anything.

I had a theory that the Renoir family isn't of royal blood. Nancy Renoir was a servant who served whoever was in power at the time when one day she grew tired of that life and made a wish upon the Skull Heart to become the queen. History was rewritten, the entire world had their memories of the old rulers wiped and Nancy claimed the throne. The wish was so impure that Nancy became extremely corrupted, so much that her status as the Skull Girl passed on through her blood to her daughter Umbrella. This explains why Umbrella is so drawn to the Skull Heart - she is drawn by the call of her mother, and fate is trying to bring the two together again. This also explains why the Medicis are so intent on challenging the Renoir family, because they know that they're not the rightful rulers. See the Medicis did nothing wrong
