I'm so fucking mad right now. On the plus side, the scimitar infinite combo doesn't proc the healing eye ring or the healing effect on the old wolf sword for some reason, so you can't get a full heal from it. Oddly it procs the damage effects though.

Also blind spot is underrated, I could do a good 150 to 200 damage with a 66/16 twohanded corvian knife (comes out better refined somehow) against people with black knight shield and moderate armor. Really useful when your exile CGS is useless against them, real shame the knife can't parry in the offhand though. You can pop it out of sprint rather quickly.

Guy in webm related ran out of stamina before he did more damage to me than I did to him. 1.11 in a nutshell for anyone just now returning to the game.

Hey now, Ruin Sentinels were awesome. And the new Spear of the Church slutwear blows Desert Slut out of the water.

Though I'm actually more of a fan of Shira's set, it's elegant and tasteful while still looking functional, unlike Sirris's slutwear.

The weight savings and absorption increase are extremely minor, I still wouldn't wear them except for fun/cosplay. I guess they were concerned that they would over-buff the armors, but unless Havel's and Smough's can break at least the 35-40% absorption mark in the physical categories, you're still better off with medium sets in the 20-25 unit range.

So a guy named Shirrako on plebbit played the DLC, he can't say much due to embargo. He's confirmed there's 4 bosses, he says they're all visible in the trailer if you look closely. Also he said all areas in the game are visible in the trailer. "End of the game" is the hint he gave on the entrance.

Both of those are pretty unoptimized

For the pyro build, you'd want your AGS to be Dark, and ideally have a Dark Longsword. Also, you should be taking advantage of the Gargoyle Flame Spear. Since your build has plenty of access to close range, you should also be using ring of favor and chloranthy. And I'd personally take ATT down to 30 and boost END to 30, especially if you intend on getting any worthwhile use out of that AGS

as for the dex/int build, you've not got nearly enough ATT to make that amount of INT useful, and the fact that you have access to so many fast weapons makes the use of Farron Flashsword negligable at best. Some of those points could go into giving you enough FAI to use Tears of Denial, and giving you more ATT slots

Witch's Locks do more damage against unarmoured enemies, who are in turn more commonly weak to fire

With a Dark AGS, you have something to handle enemies not weak to fire, since very few if any enemies are resistant to both fire and dark

You also in turn do a LOT of damage through shields. Dark Longswords are notoriously good against turtlers

As far as heavy armor goes, Catarina gives you about 8% more absorption than faraam for about 10 more units of weight. With favor +2, that requires an additional 13 to 14 SL invested in vit for 8% more lifespan, which is like 0.6% additional lifespan per point (not considering flat defense). To compare, your 28th point of vigor adds another 1.8% to what you had at 27, and your 39th point of vigor adds (as well as some flat defense) adds around 1.2%, still around twice as much, while the 44th point of vigor adds another 0.9%.

At best I'd say this is justification to pick knight and wear a heavier chestplate, since you save on some other stats in the process on certain builds.

Pyromancy builds fit a mid range opener transitioning into a close range pressure fight. With spells like Black Serpent and Black Flame, along with Chaos Bed Vestiges and other such spells, you're able to more or less choose how close you want your opponents to be at any time. And let's not forget how useful Flame Surge is

If you want to do high damage at a range, your best bet is pure int. 16/18 Pyro/Dark builds are more or less designed for versatile close ranged combat, with a whole host of area denial abilities, witch's locks to control the enemies approach and for multi target damage (Most mobs that come in packs happen to be weak to fire), dark weapons for dealing with turtlers and enemies more weak to dark, and you can mix spells, miracles and hexes in

Sacrifice means giving back souls, that came from the Fire in the beginning. All souls belong to the Fire, so it is only fair that you give them back.

Lord Gwyn did not link humanity to the Fire. Everyone who posseses a soul is linked to the Fire, because the souls were once part of the Fire. Gods, witches, humans, wolves... everyone with a soul.

Aldia is basically the guy who jumps off a cliff, breaks his legs and blames the gravity for it. His intelligence might be huge, but his common sense is pretty low.

my thought process was originally that I'll probably rarely swing AGS and just spam at mid/long range until they get aggressive at which point it's easy to punish with a curved sword weapon class for the new weapon, which doesn't take much stamina either

From my experience of having used damn near the same build at 120

You want to use AGS as your heavy hitter along with Onyx Blade since you'll be able to use that plenty well. switch AGS to Dark and you'll be doing heavy duty damage with each swing. People still get screwed up by the charge weapon art, even moreso if you know how to time it, and with your build being so versatile you can easily fit on a leo ring at times to take advantage of the poke counters

obviously, witch's locks, dark longsword and the new pyro weapon are going to be your go-to fast weapons. Dark longsword is again so useful against passive turtlers, witch's locks is amazingly adept at catching people with its rolling R1, and the weapon art can catch people offguard. As for the new weapon, it just empathizes how much more useful close range pyro spells are going to be

Of course, you do want Fire Orb or some other longish ranged spell for forcing people into melee range, but you really should focus on getting good at using your pyromancies at close range while mixing them up with you myriad of available weapons to constantly keep opponents on their toes. Remember, most people can parry a longsword and a cureved sword, but they can't parry ultras. Turtles kill your spells and your weapons, unless your weapon happens to be infused with dark. You're designed for close range domination

Like I said before mate, if you're interested in doing insane trickshots for kills before the enemy even knows you're there, just go pure INT

So /dsg/ when I first played the game I wanted to use a big hammer but I read that vordt's was shit and I ended up Using the BKGA.
But now almost a year after that I read that vordt got hyper buffed in speed and frostbite, so I started a new character and run my way through it and it 1 hits everything at +1 while I'm level 23, is it going to be like this forever or it will eventually turn to shit?

why don't from just add innovative/original weapons instead of better versions of what we already have?

Since you didn't respond, I tested it myself. 61 poise with full Havel's, Yhorm's Shield, and Wolf Ring +2. You can go through UGS swings and anything below with the weapon art. No poise on any other attacks. Also not sure if greathammers can break it. I even had a fairly solid win rate even though I was fatrolling on a quality build with a +4 version. It should be worth it.

i saw an image in the last thread where a dataminer activated a boss health bar called "spear of the church".

If you read the covenant description summoned players receive a "blessing" which could mean boss level health. Also look at the leaked dialogue. The giant judiciar has two dialogue sets for summoning an npc that are virtually the same except for the name he uses. One set could be for the generic npc while the other is for an invader. The guy on Reddit also said all four bosses are in the launch trailer.

I'm 99% sure it's an old monk fight. It also explains why there's no boss soul.

So I CEd in some of the DLC weapons to dick around and one thing I've been able to determine.

I'm fairly certain the 'paired greataxe' moveset we've been eyeing in the cut game files got used for the paired UGS moveset. A lot of the same animations, or at least similar-looking ones, appear but are used corresponding to different inputs. I think they might have scrapped the GA idea at some point and repurposed the finished animation work onto this weapon instead.

Also the 3rd L1 is literally the majestic greatsword powerstance flip from DaS2.
