Yes, but the opponent will most likely choose to ignore the Priest's understatted minions with disproportionately low attack in favor of going face so he will not have the chance to make good use of their Deathrattle effects. The Quest reward itself is basically meaningless because the minion will get removed instantly, leaving you with a lot of health (which means nothing because your opponent can just keep pushing face).

The curve of importance in increasing mana costs is logarithmic, it's a huge fucking deal going from 2 to 3 in terms of evaluating the overall power of a card. Just look at spirit claws, or Acidic Swamp Ooze and the retards who actually think the new ooze is better than an already niche tech card for one less mana

Going from 2 to 3 mana is a 50% increase in cost. Early that's a freaking lot and later makes it much harder to squeeze it in your curve with other minions that actually have stats that aren't worth 1 mana.
On top of that it was run in a meta where you have Belcher and Deathlord who were pretty hard to deal with by aggro decks in the later turns so just ignoring them was a perfectly valid option that Owl offered. What are you going to silence now? Most people won't even have a taunt to summon when they need it, let alone one that can't be dealt with a weapon charge + 1 mana minion.
