We are well aware that Machines keep androids around just for the sake of evolutionary pressure on themselves.

there are two sorts of dodges.

1 - press RT when an attack is incoming and you get eframes. you can keep mashing it for permanent invincibility.
If you evade an attack and then press your light, heavy attack or shoot the enemy you get that Omnislash like counter attack.

BUT if you press your stick towards the enemy right before the attack connects to you you kinda parry it, making a clanking sound with sparks and returning damage to the enemy.

It's shit because the first option exists.
But perhaps on hard when the enemies hit hard and you can get +450% counter chip, maybe that can rip their asses to shreds.

The Pods aren't responsible for the creation of Project Yorha, but they are the main control unit that keeps resetting things. You see in one of the endings that the Pods are rebuilding all of the destroyed crap. They decide to put 2B, 9S, and A2 back together and store restore their data because they think they deserve a chance or something like that.

Their dialog implies that the Pods are the only static creation of man left and that they are actually evolving as some of them have developed a sense of humor and able to think in abstract concepts.

One of the Pods tells a joke and the other says "I am not yet capable of understanding the humor of that joke, I will store it until I develop that ability" and several other lines that show the Pods are growing.

Again, the humans and aliens are responsible for creating the systems that keep producing Androids and Robots, but both species died off centuries ago to the point that the androids and robots are able to slowly evolve due to their self improvement cycles into actual life forms.

Is it some kind of linear RPG with shmup levels and multiple endings or something? ive seen gameplay where it looks like you are basically playing levels and stages but then ive seen free roaming too but all the free roaming seems to take place in the same kind of apocalyptic skyscraper area with grass around it.

People exaggerate a big deal. It's very common around here that something that isn't fucking amazing is automatically shit. I enjoyed it to a certain extent and definitely appreciated a lot some cool details it had, but overall it was serviceable and definitely not unplayable or bad in anyway.

DoD1's gameplay is pretty awful, but I would still recommend it, and 3's main problem is the terrible framerate. The combat itself is pretty good, and the best in the franchise after Automata in my opinion.

I've seen this "2B can't read the boss names, while 9S can" come up a few times, but A2 can read them too. I think they just hide them in the first play through to not reveal all cards right at the beginning, since the boss names are linked to the themes of the game.

That's the aerial pod spinning attack, but I'm pretty sure there's a vertical launcher (I posted about this previously and was prepared to drop the subject, but the other guy mentioned it so I'm just letting him know I don't think he's crazy).

After poring over material, however, I've discovered that it might be the jump + pod shooting technique when used in proximity to an enemy that is higher than the player, which can actually send the player at a fairly sharp upward angle.

I still think there's a dedicated not-exploit upward pod launching technique, though.

Reading the bible has nothing to do with faith. I think it's actually more interesting to read if you don't have any. You can take it as mythology, but our entire culture is still based on that book for better or worse. Not the easiest book to read though, you might want to start with "lighter" stuff.

If you see any grey terminals on the map then I'd start by going to those. I went to one in the cave in the crater in the city and killed some robits and that triggered it, but my assumption is that it might not trigger until you've got all your terminals blue.

It's not just you, it was one of the last quests I ended up triggering and some of the questline dependencies in this game are fickle to say the least. I believe I used chapter select to go to an early-ish route A chapter after the crater appeared.
