I've always been a gameplay first person so while the animations are outright garbage I am able to look past them

My big problem with the game really comes down to the choice. I often feel like I'm playing a JRPG where everything is just static. No matter what I do, my Ryder is a paragon and I have no agency. The dialogue exists but its completely pointless

For every moment I love in this game there is another one I hate. I just cant fathom why EA thought risking a major series like Mass Effect wit ha B team studio was a good idea.

Game suffers a bit from Dragon Age: Inquisition's "Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle" effect.

It probably would've benefited from a bit more linearity. A little exploration goes a long way, but so much of the open world in this game is just emptiness or copy-pasted encounters.

I would've preferred more linearity and better pacing in general with the missions. Why the fuck is act 1 like 6 missions and then act 2 & 3 are only 1 standalone mission each.

If a round goes that fast, it will pass straight through you. Not a lot of damage done with a sandgrain hole in your chest. The way bullets do any damage in the first place is cavitation, expansion and energy transfer.

If you have a sandgrain-sized projectile going fast enough to pierce your shields and your hardsuit, it's probably going to pass clean through all your fleshy bits.

If it has just enough energy to stop inside your fleshy bits, it doesn't have the mass to do any damage in you. There's no shrapnel to tear you up, nor can a sandgrain-sized projectile stopping inside you have enough energy to cause flash evaporation nor cavitation.

tl;dr if you're shooting bullets at people, they need to have a certain size to do any damage in the first place.

I'd be completely fine with it if it was 'it shears off a bullet from a block of metal'.

Okita Souji from Hakuoki comes to mind, but whether or not he actually dies on screen is pretty much open to interpretation since his ending is a little vague. I do seem to remember Weekes arguing that the player should be able to find a way to cure Thane, but he got shot down for some reason or another. But yeah, he kind of suffered for showing up in the same game that let you romance the squaddie that girls were begging for to begin with.
