I haven't played eve in several years. It seems they've rebalanced t1 stuff? I remember way back when I played minmatar and projectiles were generally top tier with amarr being generally bottom tier without t2 laser thingers.

I know eve isn't the type of game for rerolling but I also see skill injectors are a thing now. I'm seriously tempted to do a fresh start and relearn everything right, but skip the first few months of drudgery. Never had an alt anyway, so I could just call it that. Bad idea?

Also, how is faction warfare these days? I never did much with it but if I do make an alt I'd love to hop right into that to learn the ropes.

Start your own mining corp RIGHT NOW. Make it mainly oriented towards newbies. Tell them that your base system is somewhere with a non-existent market so they can't sell their own ore and introduce a ((((buy back)))) system where you undercut the actual ore value by 1/3. They go mine, contract the ore to you thinking that you're doing them a favor for buying it in that dead system, you log in once and accept the contract, paying them only 66% the price. You then proceed to refine it and pay a transport service to haul it to a tradehub once. Absolutely passive income without even undocking.

If you get 20 mining barge pilots in your corp doing an average of 3 hours of mining each per day, you'll get 20 barges * 3 hours = 60 barge hours * 0.3 tax = 20 mining barge hours-worth of mining per day, passive. Of course, if you rise the complexity of the corp and start organizing mining OPs or mass-manufacturing and tax that, you'll get even more. Execute it correctly and you can farm up to 2bil per month passively. Don't go above 20 members tho because you'll get mass-wardecced

You can still have a great time with omen and maller. One thing I would say though is that Amarr are the most fleet based race. Great mid range damage application and ehp lends itself well to balls of death. I generally don't find solo pvp enjoyable as its usually so one sided, I tend to go for small gang stuff myself. 3-10 people and you'll find plenty of good fights, and any amarr t1 will hold its own in that situation.

I find the breacher, fly catcher, Vaga, Rifter/Slasher fun off the top of my head. I like the piloting to make turrets work, crazy bordline fits on the breacher, the flycatcher is just dam sexy dual propped though. Either some good manual piloting, crazy fits that you have on the ball to work, or disgusting plays you can do with things like dual prop.

I would recommend starting out in a maller. You'll never be primary even when fit for some decent damage so you get some time to learn the ropes. Even without much additional tank the resist bonus is very nice. Also add a web if you can and sit on people

you kind of do. Since the ONI shares two bonuses with the zealot and the other two zealot bonuses don't really help beyond the 5% to rate of fire which just takes away from the capacitor use bonus. The ONI is extremely fast and kiting requires range and speed. The zealot can't barely break 2k which is a shame because it'd be a great high-tanky contender against the ONI because right now its so slow that a sacrilege makes for a better kiter in many situations

getting kinda close to finishing the skill queue for it, can anybody give me a Quick Rundown™ on carrier ratting in the drone lands? Is it
1. Do Drone Horde anomalies, filter out the two anoms with sentry guns
2. Warp in at 100km
3. Start aligning out
4. Never recall fighters until the anomaly is completed since the zero transversal will get them fucked up

Also, can a nid with t1 fighters solo an infested carrier spawn? t2 fighters? Un-soloable in a carrier?

The zealot definitely needs changes

it has very poor fitting. For a fleet ship, its definitely near the bottom. It can't fit a 1600mm plate, a MWD and beams without needing two fucking ancil current routers or an ancil current router plus some reactor control unit.

It only does 1493 which compared to other HAC's is very slow. Its even slower with an AB

You can run an AB but even with a fed navy 10mn you're only doing 616 so you're not very maneuverable regardless. This is pretty much brawling territory for speed in which a sacrilege will gladly take the spot due to its amazing tank, fitting and everything.

Why fly a zealot for small gang when the ONI is nearly double the speed? The ONI also gets a set of medium drones which have way more utility than a 5th gun slot.

For a small gang fleet comp I'd take a vagabond or ONI over a zealot. I'd rather have the range and utility of an ishtar or the tank of the deimos over a zealot.

The zealot has very little going for it. All it really has is range with guns but at the expense of being very slow, not very tanky compared to the brawler that the sacrilege is and not very fast compared to the kiter that the ONI is. No drones either. Theres a reason people stopped using it after it got hardcore nerfed in 2009 and it has little to do with carriers, T3C's or faction battleships since even those weren't prevalent as large fleet comps in 2009

Yes, but bring a capital shield booster because again CCP can't balance NPC's and the fucking infested carrier does gobs of DPS.

Where did I say that numb nuts? I mentioned 3 ways it was clearly lack luster. 1. Its fucking slower than many of the other hac's and the speed doesn't help it do anything, the sacrilege is about as fast. 2. it has really poor fitting. Its extremely difficult to get a fit, a MWD and beams on this thing without having to sacrifice either both rigs or a rig and a low for fitting mods. 3 not the best cap in the world seeing as the sacrilege is better. Also heres a 3.5 in that CCP could differentiate it from the ONI by giving the zealot a 4th mid.

The zealot doesn't just have fitting constraints, it can't fit its own weapons effectively and needs two fucking rigs just to run just like the vagabond can't readily fit 720mm artillery except it doesn't need 2+ fitting mods to run.

Yea it fucking is stupid. Battlecruisers aren't the same as HAC's I know Test uses rail feroxes for long range sniping which is great because the drake is fucking shit since 2012. So yea the Ferox does have a fleet application that clearly the drake won't and can't fill. No one uses zealots for any application whether it'd be brawling, kiting, solo, small-gang, microgang, blobs or anything purely and ONLY because it gets outclassed by everything else.
