Quick question: I know they said matchups are going to be determined based also on how many Inherited skills you're using, but do they mean how many the unit has learned or how many it has equipped.

IIRC, he shows up together with Ishtar. You can either

1.) do what you said and try to bypass them

2.) drop Ishtar to low health/defeat her

3.) drop Julius to low health/defeat him.

You are supposed to usually pick options 1 or 2, but you can manage option 3 if the right conditions are met since Julius does not have Awareness when you run into him the first time. In my case, Lakche hit him twice for one damage, then procced Meteor Sword and crit him 5 times in a row, and then activated Moonlight Sword and finished him off with 2 more crits.
