that's exactly what makes it so frustrating. it's very difficult to see your own improvement and not get disheartened when drawing especially when you're starting

and the beginner period while learning to draw takes a LOT of time. you can easily spend close to half a year drawing mostly garbage scribbles before you start getting the lightest idea of proportions and faces. drawing also produces a easily and quickly consumed product so when you see nicely drawn stuff you can't really appreciate just how much effort and time it takes

every skill takes a lot of effort to learn well but i'd say drawing is up there as one of the hardest and most frustrating ones to draw
