The worst thing is, for a time whenever I tried to look up anything about an SMT game, every single time this turd of an article would appear on the first page of Google.

And I mean, it's not incorrect to state that SMT IV is a difficult game at first for newcomers. There's grinding and it's very easy to get wiped out if you don't save often and take precautions. But the game does allow you to save after every random battle and also warns you whenever there's a boss coming up. It requires some trial and error but once you get out of the tower the game is pretty much a cakewalk.

Yeah, but if you don't have charge and only have Hector left, and your other characters aren't good enough to either survive and deal counter attack damage to Hector, Ninian is a godsend. It's happened multiple times now.

Low health Eirika, Effie, Ninian and Julia. Ninian is the only one who can survive a hit and take out a chunk of his hp at the same time.

Alternatively, invest in a res-tank instead. You already have the weapon triangle filled for offense, now round out your defense.

I only use lv40 5* heroes but this shit is just impossible for me. There are always at least two or three maps that are too disadvantageous for the characters I use to win without a death.

I change from time to time, depending on the bonus characters - but I usually use Lucina, Julia, Ursula and Olivia (don't have a better dancer yet). Sometimes Gunter or Oboro, both are somewhat prone to killing and especially Olivia, despite non of them being def/res -.
I should add most heroes (like Lucina or Gunter) haven't any really good inheritance buffs yet though, since I am missing the characters for that.
