Besides SuG at 4*, I don't have any of the BO past 1*, so no HIM either.

That being said, I'm not really sure, he's my only native T2 with 1st gear at 20, and has awakened attack isos, plus maxed 6*; yet even with Medusa lead he can't break 90k on saturdays.

He could before when he had a 30% def pen obelisk instead of the GBI he has currently, but well, shit happens.

Yes. His 5* and 1* travel the whole screen so they'll kill enemies right as they spawn more often than not and unlike Strange, all of his moves (well, except his 2* and 3* but those are both pretty quick moves) have huge DPS so you don't have to worry about him using the "wrong" moves.

Other than his leadership, he is 100% useless at T1 and while he is a solid T2, it's hamstrung by not only being attached to his worst skill, but also being on a cooldown that fucks the whole thing up since at max SCD, the actual skill has a lower cooldown than the T2 so if you're not super careful, you could end up using the skill before the T2 is ready which leaves him both super vulnerable and super useless.

I've stalled with my progress in game and I'm having a lot of trouble continuing these story missions. Am I just going to have to grind it out or is there an easier way to get EXP?

dailies, specials, and memory missions (with the Doctor Strange epic quest) also give exp

Focus on getting 1 character to level 60 first, you should be able to clear through chapter 10 within a week, maybe 2 if you don't play much.

Chapters 11 and 12 are really difficult end games stuff, so don't worry about those til later.

I mean, getting 90k+ without a damage proc obelisk is pretty easy. Issue is that dodge is too god damned streaky and the ABX beasts have a bad tendency of smacking you out of shit if you have even 1 vulnerable frame in your attacks. It's pretty annoying.
Getting silenced in the middle of your 3 with Carnage and not taking any damage is extremely annoying as well.
