To me, platforming as a concept means a lot more than simply:

that is platforming in a nutshell, yes. the problem I have with the open world idea is you must design the stage with the physics in mind. 2D Sonic works because you can only launch yourself left or right. 3d open world with sonic physics is not something you can just do and say it works. Fangame of the Month (name here) looks terrible to play because Sonic is about memorization and then increasing your score or time via selected paths. Open world screams "explore me and do fetch quests".

Mine is Bunnie because I deeply relate to her and her struggles. Also a cyborg hero perfectly fits one of the themes of the classic games, that being that technology isn't bad in and of itself, it's how you use it (The Sonic CD good futures still had technology, but they were harmonious with the environment around them)

It's kind of ironic that this came from SaTAM, where that theme was completely missed

I prefer the original instrumentation, this one kind of loses the magic in some parts, even though it emphasizes some melodies better.

Having said that, I really wish the sound in Forces has better quality than the official video of the official theme has. I have a lot of complaints about the quality of the sound in the games. Great songs like Endless Possibility were murdered because of the quality, it's way past time for them to fix their shit.

I haven't been to very many storytimes myself, but from my own experiences, yes, more often than not, that is the case. But from what I hear, the Ride seems to have had a lot more going on, and there are some rare occasions on /co/ where a storytime will develop into something more fun.

It didn't use to be that way. Back in 2013, /co/ had their own start-to-finish storytime called the Maration, run by one MarathonOP. It had no set schedule and there was shoddy thread archiving back then, so you pretty much had to be there or you missed out on most of the content. It was enjoyable in its own way, with few major bumps, and was by-and-large viewed positively (and lead to the initial surge of Nicolefags).

I'm not exactly certain what happened since then, be it a newfound bitter distaste of anything furry or lasting resentment over The Ride (Marathon vets tended to view the Ride as much more rowdy and prone to waifufaggotry/lewdfaggotry, giving fans of the comic a bad name), but the Archie comics are not nearly as well received these days. Aside from the ever-present Boco, ArchieSonic threads on /co/ are plagued with anons that have a revulsion to Flynn's work on the book, and will spend threads calling for his resignation from head writer. It sets a bad tone for the experience.
