It helps to know all the maps but you can honestly do without knowledge of a few since you can filter them in the options. Most people I know have at least 2 maps filtered and hostage turned off for ranked since maps like house are a cluster fuck plus hostage is a shit mode and anyone that disagrees deserves death. If you're just struggling with a map just stick to casual since you'll learn it in time (maybe queue with filters for everything except maps you don't feel comfortable with to speed up the process) but if you legitimately do not want to play them you can just filter it out of your searches.

Let me ask you, would it break the game if the weapon damage values would be equalized according to the cartridge?

So I listed all of the weapons in the game according to the shit they shoot (not counting Caveira hand cannon). If their damage values followed any sort of reality, the cartridge would dictate how damaging the weapon would be, but as you can see the damage values float around a lot.

So if we look at the damage values of the guns categorically, we can see that the 5.56x45mmNATO guns are the most internally sensible, with the damage values being close each other, and the shotguns being very nonsensical in the same manner.

If we look at all of the guns as a whole, they seem to be roughly pretty good. The most standout anomaly is the Makarov with it's super damage it has for no reason. Why even have that ancient POS in the game, since obviously better choice for that damage would be MP-412 REX? (Glaz has an excuse for super damage, since we can assume he has some sort of armour piercing bullets for his gun).

Just for fun, I checked the rates of fire for the guns and compared them to their IRL values. They seem to be pretty good in general.
