Also get odd eyes vortex dragon with an odd eyes fusion or maybe a trump for easy summoning. It bounces opponent's monsters back to the hand/extra deck and has a once per turn universal negate at the cost of shuffling a face up extra deck pendulum back to the deck. When absolute gets popped, you can summon vortex in emergency from absolute's effect to get rid of your opponent's scariest monster

The way I see it is that the "Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Special Summoned by..." text is summoning conditions, but not being able to summon semi-nomi monsters from the grave unless they've been properly summoned first is game mechanics, not summoning conditions.

Until you win an official tournament, you are actually ONLY allowed to use common cards. Once you get your first top you are allowed to use Rares, after your second you can use Super Rares, and so on. The order goes:

Common -> Rare -> Super Rare -> Ultra Rare -> Gold Rare -> Secret Rare -> Ultimate Rare

And obviously it has to be an official Konami tournament or the win won't be recorded.

Rarity is only worth if you actually want to build a deck that glows in the darkness or if the card only exists in said rarity.

There are a bunch of cards that are Rare that are worth more than Ultimate Rares. While other cards have price equivalent to their rarity and more. Basically, it all comes down to usefulness. If a card is powerful of course its price will rise.

For your first deck, try a structure deck instead of making one out of booster cards. Master of Pendulum and Pendulum Domination are two structures that will teach you all summonings and are fun. But don't try building a expensive deck or something till March 25. That is the day the new mechanic arrives in Japan and it will change the game heavily

Yes, basically that. It's normal to buy 3 copies of the same structure, since core cards only come a single in each. Even if you try to buy separately, those important cards get their price up due to everyone only wanting them, so it's best to just buy 3 and then fill the rest with cards from other collections.

Most of the decks nowadays have their bulk somewhat accessible, but outside staples which are very powerful cards tend to be were the biggest price lies. Luckily, it isn't crucial to have cards like that, but more like if you have them, you are much more powerful in the game. Example: Dimensional Barrier, a overpriced card that alone shuts down your opponent's moves and strategies his whole turn.

I'm don't like to actually recommend you, since right now our meta is pretty much everything that can put Zoodiacs in their decks (Zoodiacs are the current broken splashable overpriced archetype right now) save some exceptions.

If I were to recommend, it would be Pendulum Domination. The archetype of the deck is D/D, they are fun, do a lot of combos and stuff like that. But like most decks right now, the Link mechanic day 25 will affect them a lot, which is why I recommend you don't try to build any deck IRL till then. It's best to wait people analyze the metagame in Japan once the link mechanics arrive in it to know what will survive or not.

So I have a question. Are there any decks that dont revolve around extra deck play but aren't stun shit, BUT are still fun to use? I ask because I dont really ever use extra deck monsters in any of my decks. I tend to rely more on the spell, traps, and monster effects in my decks. I think Monarchs are one example of this kind of thing, but I just wanted to know if there were any other decks out there that fit this kinda style. I usually offer them to trade their cards (if they got bad pulls) for new packs for free if they look disappointed or just ask them what their favorite pokemon is and just hang them out a single if we have in the binders. $8 might not be a lot for us but they are usually a full month allowance for some kids and feeling like you wasted all your money must suck for them.

They usually get to see the binders only.
We offer some "dueling classes" with prebuild loaned decks for free, mats from structure decks so they can learn the zones and usually a begginer's guide. Wish I had a pack to take a pic right now but we usually do that the weekends

And sometimes we offer tournaments with decks ready to go, we try to get them balanced so any deck can have a chance to win. At the end of the tournament the winners gets 2 boosters of their choice and the rest gets 1.

Both are free to enter since we don't wanna go jew mode with kids.
