Ninian

Sometimes when checking IVs through fake unlocking potential, the stats are way too high. For example my Gordin has 5* lvl 1 attack of 14 and speed of 2 but the stats on the calculator only show 6/7/8 attack and speed of 5/6/7. Am I misunderstanding IV? Can you get some stats which are outrageously high such as my Gordins attack but also outrageously low like his speed?

Also how do I know which IV is best for my characters? Common sense tells me my Gordin is shit because of such a low speed. Am I correct? Or does his high attack balance it out?

Which is better and is it good?

I'm playing Fire Emblem: Awakening on hard right now, on chapter 9, and I have a core group of units that I use, and consequently, have about six level 2/3 characters, and then the core group at around level 10 - 16. Is there any point to grind leveling my low level characters (Stahl, Miriel, Vaike, Sumia, Sully, Nowi) or should I just keep using my core group and move on. I get the feeling I will just end up with better characters later on anyways.
