So let's start off this general by saying how we got into Mario.

When I was little, my dad had lots of floppy disks that I would put into the computer and play The Legend of Zelda, PAC-MAN, Dig-Dug, and of course, the original Super Mario bros.

I grew up a Nintenfag, but now I just mostly game on PC.

Odyssey is the most hype I've been for a Mario game in years.

Truth be told, I don't remember how I got into Mario. Must've been quite young at the time. Like, 10 years ago?

My family had an SNES when I was a tiny baby child (born 1992) and I grew up with my dad literally guiding my mini baby-hands around computer mice, joysticks, and video game controllers. He played a lot of PC and arcade games in his own youth and has always worked with computers so I was born into it and raised on it and I couldn't be happier.

My first video games EVER were Super Mario World and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Because I played with my dad, who was always my Player 1, I think this is where Luigi and Tails being my favourite characters originally came from. I played as them more often than not.

This is a new general.
Well, my brother had both Super Mario Bros. 1-3 on the NES. He and my cousin played them nonstop up to late 1997. The next month, we got a PS1. But overall, we played all three consecutively, with 1 and 3 being the most played. 2 was played during the summer. You don't know how much I looked forward to watching a SMB3 playthrough on a friday night.

Paper Mario has to be THAT game for me. Mario & Luigi are another, but the OG Paper Mario was fantastic. I played through it countless times, on all four saveslots. Until 3D World, I didn't play a Mario game since Super Paper Mario in 2007. I don't why, but I fell out of Mario. As cool as Odyssey is looking, it's not making me want a Switch.

When I was in elementary school my parents would drop me off at a day care at a near by church, one of the people there set up an nes emulator, and I started out with mario 3.

As for the first mario game I ever owned I think it was galaxy, and that was like 4 years later which is probably my favorite platformer in the series

Mario has tons of potential for more comics

Yeah, there is a manga series called Super Mario-Kun that made a lot comic adaptions of the games, both main games and spin-offs. They're quite popular in Japan and they're hard to find any English translation. Can't say I like it, though, since the art style is kind of turn off. Too cute/chibi for me.
