There's less RNG than HS but you're still going to get dicked by bad hands and topdecks.

Starting off in SV is pretty easy, rerolling and the free stuff you get with a new acc make getting your first T1 deck very fast if you know what you're doing, I would ask around the general.

If you like anime art then you'll probably enjoy it, it's also nigh-identical to HS in how it plays so you don't need to relearn anything.

Gwent's business model is closer to HS's but their pack system where you choose your rare is pretty cool. It's also still in CBT so the best time to start is now if you're looking to f2p or not spend much money.

Gameplay wise it's very different from any other CCG on the market. RNG is minimized and skill dictates game a lot more than other card games.

I'd love to use CSword more in ranked, but I just have the worst luck with it. I win against decent decks fairly often in unranked but as soon as I take it to ranked it's just loss after loss after loss with maybe 1 or 2 wins at most. I've played more or less 99% of all decks in this game. The skill cap for each one of them is about the same. This game is one of the easiest DCGs I've ever played but it's fun. Cygames and their council of MtG pros made a good job creating the illusion of choice by diversifying crafts.

You can literally learn to pilot any deck to perfection within 5-10 games. Iteration and deck tweaking times notwithstanding, there's not much else to it because your game sense progression is enough to translate into other decks. Even though all I did was play 2 classes to AA, by those 3 weeks, I already knew how all decks worked so it was easy to play them.

Perhaps once there's more cards, actually complex decks and mechanics will arise but as it is, most decks are simple enough to just autopilot through while watching movies or playing other games.
