Say you get attacked by a ninja on the enemy turn with a silver dagger or w/e that inflicts -5Def/Res "through the unit's next action"

Does moving your affected unit and then ending your turn count as some sort of action and then clear the debuff, before the enemy has a chance to attack and take advantage of the debuff?

I swear it just happened in my last battle and saved my ass from losing a unit, but I could be mistaken.

So, after picking and choosing through a few orbs summons on the Ursula banner, all I managed to walk away with was some okay 4 stars and some shit 3 stars.

I'm still having fun with it. I'm pulling out all the stops, using the 3 path bonuses, all the DLC, al lthe DLC skills, grinding, etc. to just use whatever the fuck I want (I'm using nobody from previous playthroughts, so no royals or anybody else good). After playing no-grind BRT and Conquest, it's surprisingly enjoyable, Dread Fighter is so OP it's absurd.

It's just that unit timing and balance is so fucking bad. Charlotte, Benny, and Nyx show up lv10 unpromoted halfway through the game. Niles, Odin, Pieri, and Laslow are so low-leveled they're liabilities on the map you get them. When Subaki and Hana show up early on, they're so weak they do LITERALLY 0 damage to enemies.

Most of the strats either KO or distract Ursula with a green mage of some sort before dealing with the other shit. The Axe Armor can't warp next to people if they're fighting through walls.
