Selfish units will be stronger? Not really.
Don't forget that totem units also have their own non totem skill. Totem stacked lines will fall a little behind in terms of unit vs unit battles, however, since they always stack totems anyway it still give a very close performance against selfish only lines but the most important thing is that they do not outdo selfish units in every category by a retardedly staggering amount.

Then, this is why the follow up is scaling of skills according to the number of categories it gives. Some skills give more than 60% of multiple categories in comparison to other skills. This creates too much of an advantage to some units, like Renee vs pre buff Balth or vs the forgotten Nari. Creating a more balanced competition on selfish skills between units both for totem units and completely selfish units.

In addition to this, totems will not be useless at this point but rather will still be used to support key units in the team, striker, CM, and GK, so any amount will be desirable to have to further highlight the performance of this key units.

Then from here, you can start looking at individual units that perform excessively and scale accordingly.

The totem and healing from Latios is noticeable and very good but against strong defensive lines you won't be able to do a lot of damage, especially after the changes to utility strikers.

My Latios games were lasting 35 rl minutes last season in Galaxy and that was before the GK buffs, I'd honestly say to just invest in Shanti instead and give up on monolight unless you're a masochist or are content just being in champs where you don't have to worry about wasting 35 minutes on a match that you lose because their striker did more damage in far less shots.
