Mytha is pretty easy. In fact, most of DaS2 is easier than OnS, until you get to the DLCs. Fume Knight is a big wall.

Also yeah, you just use effigies. Burning them prevents summoning/invasions for a while. Defeating a boss automatically applies that effect for a while too.

Unfortunately, no. Both spells suffer from the same problems. Primarily freeze takes too long to build up and then it doesn't do a decent amount of damage when it does. I bring Snap Freeze to FCs every now and then and I think I've seen it hit for 250 max if I can get someone to stand in it.

I dunno, DaS2 bleed was pretty fucking terrible, all it did was deal a flat 200 damage, reduce maximum stamina by 25% and slow down your movement for a few seconds. The only thing it had going for it was that there were multiple ways to boost buildup, including a ring and gloves that could stack with the weapon plus Bleeding Serum.

At least frostbite inflicts a damage absorption penalty, that can be useful in PvE against bosses.

First, I was using combined Black Iron Greatshield plus Wolnir's rolling R1s. Might have swapped out for Dark Sword once or twice.

Second, I was using BKS with one-handed Washing Pole. Apparently Lothric is weak to slash damage, because I was doing 100 more damage to him than Lorian with attacks that hit both of them.

I guess maybe I just got gud at the boss, even though it the last time I beat them was back in October or so, before AoA came out. I was having the worst time learning how to dodge the teleporting attacks and just kept throwing my body at Lorian until I learned the patterns well enough.

So I decided to go with lord of the hollows ending on my new character, and when I came to sacrifice Anri, pilgrim was already dead and Anri already sacrificed. Yuria is gone too. What the fuck happened?

Over a thousand hours over all three Souls games and I still cannot fucking jump attack and kick consistently. Why!?

The port being trash just means it wasn't better than console versions on its own. That, combined with the leeway for mods, makes it inherently better. All possible issue have been pretty much fixed and there's even an unofficial patch coming, allowing use of weapons to a much greater extent

Phase one isn't too bad, though sometimes she seems to develop infinite poise for no reason.
Phase 2 I keep getting caught on Ariandel when I roll. My spells do decent damage, but I don't have many FP since I'm going int/dex and had to cut points somewhere.
Phase 3, her combos never fucking end, and I found out the hard way that she's invulnerable at the start of the fight because she tanked 2 spells, had the damage numbers pop up on her HP bar, and gave absolutely no fucks.

I'm honestly thinking of leaving and grinding more levels off the ascended winged knights. I'm only level 94, and I've had basically no trouble with the game aside from this fight.

I'm playing Demon's Souls for the first time, after becoming a big fan of Dark Souls. My intention is to run a straight sword with some fire magic, like my first Dark Souls character. Is kris sword good? Would I be better off with the long sword, like my Dark Souls character?

On a side note, how the fuck do I deal with the stonefang mines spider's fire breath? When it does the huge deluge of fire, I just lose almost all of my health. And for grass, since I've run short thanks to this spider, should I farm?

I'm excited for what looks like a bunch of varied areas as well as more than one actual boss, but I'll miss how open the first DLC was. Invasion shenanigans were pretty rad. Hopefully the areas in this DLC, despite being probably more traditionally fogwalled are at least a good size.

Besides, I want to boost the damage of Lorian's hence why I wanted to reallocate into Int/Fai, then if I have that Int/Fai I might as well use pyromancies. In just three weeks the first /dsg/ thread tourney is starting. On March 25th, 2pm PST a PC tournament will be held prior the release of The Ringed City DLC.
Participants will be matched up with others who sign-up and fight for the claim to be /dsg/'s champion. The winner and runner-ups will receive prizes including Steam games and being better than everyone else who fought.

RULES:
-Maximum Soul Level of 125 allowed. Someone with CE open will be monitoring all players to make sure this rule and others aren't broken.
-The starting location will be High Wall, followed by Farron Keep bridge and ending at the Darkmoon Tomb.
-Fights are best of 3
-Each fight is 2 minutes long, the one with the most % health left at the end will win if both are alive.
-Gargoyle Flame Spear, Washing Pole, Throwing Knives, Anri's Straight Sword, Ethereal Oak Shield, Ancient Greatshield, and Fire Surge are banned.
-Only two Ashen Estus sips per fight, any more and your win will not count, initiating a rematch. Do this twice and you are disqualified
-All Regen items and spells are banned to disencentize passive shittery. This includes Sun Princess Ring, Blessed Weapon, Spells like Bountiful Sunlight, the weapons/shields mentioned above with innate regen and anything infused with Blessed.
-Normal FC rules still apply such as no healing items. Fight rotation will be determined once brackets are set.

the abyss and deep seems to fuck people up, unlike humanity (I mean the firekeepers have swarms of the stuff inside them, and they're usually the kindest characters you run across)

The deep is humanity, just a different aspect or version of it.

Humanity are small fragments of the dark soul which implies that humanity is very close to the dark and can be considered the same thing.

The abyss is rampant humanity like how the chaos flame is fire that's agitated.

The question to ask is what is the profaned flame? An otherwise normal flame that deals fire damage (see gargoyle hammer/spear) and looks like any other flame yet is abyssal and never dies. It also was triggered by relatives of Alsanna who herself is a piece of manus and reigned fire that only incinerated humans.

Despite being called a flame the profaned flame has a much stronger link to the dark/abyss and humanity then is revealed to us. I hope we get more info in trc.

What level should one typically be around for Farron Woods? And the Watchdog Covenant? I'm Level 31. Am almost afraid to level because of Watchdogs?

Why does everyone 2shot me at this point of the game? I'm SL120 with 20VIG and whenever I get invaded he just swipes his longsword twice while buffed and 2shots me. Am I suppose to have a shit ton of vig? Cause not getting hit is hard when most of the invaders lag a bit.

Not him but both my pure pyro and faith characters at 120 only have 22 vig. As a caster all your points go into the offensive stat + around 40 or so ATT. Then with whatever's left you usually spend some into str/dex to wield SOME things and maybe some leftover points into END so you can cast more than 2 spells and not be exhausted of stamina.

This is my blind run through it so I wanted to try out lots of different weapons but I'm getting memed on pretty hardcore whenever I get invaded. I usually use the GS or the Dragon Tooth because fun. Been managing just fine with bosses by dodging instead of blocking but heh.

If you're in it for just the PvE just dump point into Vig until 50 and continue with the other stats

DaS2 matchmaking is based on SM instead of SL and specialized pvp builds will generally be much higher level than pve playthroughs at equivalent SM because they control their soul gain more efficiently and waste nothing.

20 vigor is also kinda pathetic for what at this point would probably endgame SM ranges. Your HP is getting blown up because you have about half the vigor that your opponent has.

Strength is actually pretty good for pvp in 2 relative to the rest of the series, but it;s also probably the playstyle with the highest skill floor. You can't really make anything happen with strength weapons until you're already fairly good at the game because a lot of using them effectively means knowing how to not swing and play the footsie game such that you're in a position to threaten attacking without risking yourself or wasting stamina. A new player with a big strength stick will struggle to do much of anything against a more experienced player.

TRC is fucking Londor for sure, and we're following the Pilgrims backwards straight to the source.

Might also explain why the Abyss Watchers decided to set up where they did, since if that's where the Pilgrims are coming from it'd be right on top of the Abyss. Which would also explain why there's a ton of Darkwraiths in the area, too. And why every area adjacent to it (catacombs, cathedral, profaned capital) shows signs of heavy Abyss corruption.

How the hell do you guys keep him alive during the Yhorm fight? I've tried three separate times and he always dies ten seconds in. I've tried both going straight for the stormruler and fighting him normally (with the Skull ring in both cases) and the onion keeps getting diced immediately.

So long as they show all of it instead of cutting out random parts, and also show the items they're picking up instead of skipping over them with the HUD turned off, it'll have tons of new information. So in other words, if it's a live gameplay stream then we'll see tons and tons of new info to the point that we'd be able to create a map of the first couple areas.
