The way to use a lib is to fly escort for an armor column.

Armor column will have AA to kill ESF's that get on your ass, meanwhile you can pick off shit that the armor can't quite reach or is escaping from them.

Only department where I find the TR to be shit is in the SMG department.
Carbines? Pretty good and with 40 rounds in the mag
Assault rifles? The Sabr is still the best meme burst gun, the TAR is top tier for lagwizardry, also 40 rounds
LMGs? Despite what people say, the carv is a great all rounder that performs well in every situation and has 100 rounds before reload/overheat, you still have the MSW if you want to 1v1 tryhard
Maxes? AI is the same as VS but AV is a fucking pounder...

to do the same with a duster you have to let your DPS go to shit and give squishies loads more time to get to cover

if you do strafing runs (be it zepher or duster) you'll take a lot more damage and you'll be pretty much limited to one magdump every 20 seconds at least (that is, assuming you don't take a significant amount of damage and have to repair, etc.)
