What other games similar to Siege does /r6g/ like to play?

Mostly, I just want to virtually fondle virtually well-modelled guns, but all I really have for that is Red Orchestra 2, and it gets boring using WWII weapons all the time.

Why is every gun in R6S frankensteined? Why is there not a decent weapon selection? It seems like state of the art operators are busier fondling Cold War era relics than they are using state of the art technology.

Really wish I had that money for one of the Jap operators with the Type 89 though.

Obvious answer is insurgency. The player models and some environments look awful, but the guns are very well detailed. There is a steam workshop where you can replace your gun in multiplayer, like I changed my m4a1 into a L85 with a mod. Also a new version of insurgency with a whole graphics rework and competitive play is coming soon. I think it is called Insurgency: Sandstorm off the top of my head

Also, there is the new Rising Storm 2: Vietnam in the works by the people who made RO2.

Apart from Siege, I've been playing some indie games like Factorio, Frozen Synapse and Jalopy. To have some variety, you know. I also beat the new Hitman a while back.

The only ones similar to Siege I've played recently are Frozen Synapse, XCOM2 with Long War 2, and the classic R6 games.

They had been going through testing for quite a while, before whittling it down to 5 weapons (HK416, FN SCAR, VHS-2, SG550 and the ARX-160) of which it then came down to the first two and the HK416 was finally chosen.

If you're having trouble with situational awareness, valkyrie provides a good leg to stand on, caveira and jager are good roamers in terms of defense, and for attack you'll want to use drones, possibly jackal for getting the upper hand on roamers, and breachers like hibana and thermite so as to get the drop on people.

During the Red Crow update (I think it was) I remember them tweaking Valks head hitbox since it was giving a lot of players issues, probably due to the shemagh not being part of the hitbox or something similar. Call me insane but I 100% prefer the what-you-see-is-what-you-get model for hitboxes.
As long as the operators are balanced around their hitbox advantages or disadvantages I think it works just fine.
I mean enough people already claim "I totally headshot him" when they didn't or the hitreg fucked up due to latency, I don't think having the head hitboxes be smaller than the models would make that any better.
Also, "coincidentally" the two best window peekers in the game now, Bandit and Jager, also have the biggest heads of all defenders. I can't help but wonder if that was intentional.
If Blitz was 2/2 and/or a faster aim speed like he did in the alpha then him having a big ol head would make a lot more sense. People complain about his head hitbox because it lets his ears get shot past his shield, and he's slow compared to the other GSG9, so you fix those two things and you start to see less of a problem.

Well there's where you're wrong, because the operators are a combination of their whole kits. Good Gadgets + good guns is always better than good gadgets + okay guns.
Especially Blackbeard. With headshots working the way they do in this game why would you need one of the highest damage rifles in the game when you should be going for headshots yourself and have a shield to make that even easier? It made him too easy when he had a 150 health shield and could bodyshot to kill effectively.
And when Capitao had frags his only weakness was lack of breaching utility, everything else about his kit was insanely powerful in most cases. Nerfing his gun let him sit more in line with ops with other utilities.
