The only missions where playing as a solo Air Raider is fun is when it's a wide open field (e.g. Beach Front) against tons of non-ranged ground enemies, e.g. Red Ants. There is a perverse satisfaction being able to beat those missions carrying nothing but Air Strikes, Orbitals, and Artilleries.

I am against combining Rangers and Air Raiders. I just think Air Raiders should be balanced better for solo while still maintaining its status as support. The weapon trophy is what takes most of the time. Each weapon/shield has 5 lvls and you have to level all of them to complete your item book.

Only played Risk of Rain. Never played it on Vita, just PC.

It's a good 2D platformer+action+roguelite game. I remember playing it for a good couple weeks, getting addicted and trying different styles and strategies. Then I stopped and never went back.

both half minute hero and brandish are pretty fantastic, I think you and everyone should give them a go.

HMH is very varied and has kind of branching stories for each chapter, and unlockable titles and shit depending on how you resolve each stage, it's got quirky humor and different game modes, which take place in different times of teh story and different characters.
Just a heads up, in case you are thinking of getting it on PC, do not ever change the graphics out of the 8bit style, they literally removed the different game modes and replaced them with a single stage of hero 30 mode just so tehy wouldn't have to redo all graphics on that shitty art style. HMH2 on pc is good to go though.

Brandish has very entertaining and cleverly designed dungeons, I guess the combat can be hit or miss for some, but I feel like it's very well made, each action has its weight and it's easy to fuck up your timing or misread enemies, which adds challenge, and is honestly pretty engaging for how simple it is.

Not at all, you can reset the countdown in most stages given certain conditions, and even if you fail and the countdown is over, you never really feel like you lost a lot of progress, starting over a stage is nothing to fret over.

As for HMH, you do only get 30 seconds, but one of the gimmicks is if you whet the beak of the time goddess, she looks the other way and rewinds time back to 30 seconds. So you fight monsters in 2-5 second chunks to level up and get gold so you can buy better equipment while running across the map and hoping you can reset time back to 30 seconds in time to not have the world end. Each time you reset time though the price goes up so you can't do that forever.
Most levels won't take you over 4 or 5 minutes even with all the time resetting so even if you fail the level it's not too big of a deal. Some levels have multiple ways to win and there's branching paths too. I only played Hero 30 and bought it at release and I felt like I got my money's worth.
There used to be a demo for it on PSN but I'm not sure if it's still there or if you can download it on Vita. If you have a PSP then definitely give the demo a try since it's one of those things that are hard to explain but you'll figure out if you like it real quick if you give it a go.

Brandish sits with Sayonara Umihara Kawase+ as probably the best game I've played on Vita, even if it is a PSP game. It's like a mix of a Falcom action RPG and a grid-based dungeon crawler with level design that hits a happy medium between early Zelda's labyrinthine approach and Souls' penchant for beginner traps. I was very happy with it. I don't know if the Vita version is any good but I did spend a few hours with the PC version of Risk of Rain and it's pretty good, which says something considering I generally despise procedurally generated levels.
