not sure, but you could look at the patches. the pre-patch between vanilla and tbc would probably be the biggest changes (i could be wrong). And then go from there, since the vanilla stuff you know would likely be 1.12 stuff.

I know TBC helped paladins out a lot, blizzard finally gave them a taunt and gave shamans bloodlust even though shamans.
which I think makes sense now giving the alliance an additional tank in vanilla might of been pretty poor balance. I don't know why they never made druids viable raid tanks but people tell me druids get super charged around AQ.

Prot became viable mid TBC and when decently geared was a favorite for cleaning Heroics. Ret paladins were slightly less of a joke than they're now, with the exception of 3.0 bridging patch, which made them the most broken class in history for a brief period of time. Holy was briefly welcomed in Arena but got cucked by druids in S3 onwards, with the exception of 5v5 and Teh Super Gosu comp.

Paladins
Protadins are now viable. They can tank almost all boss encounters and they are by far the best trash tanks.

Retri paladins are now useful as well. If you are horde one of them in raid is extremely good for various buffs tied to the spec but more is overkill.

Holy paladins have no huge difference compared to vanilla

Warriors
warrior tanks are good. warrior dps tho get good only lategame so they have trouble finding raid spots. Fury is one of the best dps in sunwell while arms has a good debuff but is lower on meters.

Rogues
Combat is the best spec, hemo can be used but its suboptimal while assassination is a meme spec

Druids
Feral tanks are great. Really good early on but warriors are better later. Kittens are a meme spec. Balance druids are viable but they aren't great(you will see one of them tops in a raid). Resto druids start off really strong but by t6 they fall a bit behind, still you won't have trouble finding groups.

Hunters
BM is the best hunter spec, in sunwell you may see some survival hunters as well since they bring a really good group buff depending on their agility.

Shamans
Elementals are viable but not that great(probably 1 per raid). Enhancement shamans are good for their utility but they will never top the meters. Resto shamans are the kings of tbc healing. Lots of raids going into t6 with stack a lot of shamans.

Priest
Disc is a meme spec I think, shadow brings AMAZING utility but will never top the meters(1-2 spriests per raid is pretty common) and holy priests are really good and balanced healers that can both heal the raid and the tanks.

Mages
Deep Arcane is viable for a small period of time during t5. Other than that frost is better than fire in low gear level and fire is better as you get better gear. Still mages are bad warlocks in this expansion.

Warlocks
Destruction is one of the best dps specs in the game but it's really boring to play. I think at really low gear level you will start as affliction. Demo is a no go

2. Warrior dps is not really that good even in sunwell but you need like 1-2 dps warriors for shouts for melee groups
3. Hemo is garbage
4. Surv is viable from get go, it requires different gear than BM. BM will always be the #1 dps spec in entire TBC
5. Elemental totems are a gigantic boon to the caster groups and Enhancement is a must have for melee.
6. Deep disc is very viable but suboptimal, shadow is just there to buff warlocks
7. Arcane is still good in t6 if you know how to play it, and mages bring utility Warlocks cannot
8. The moment you get 20% crit you can go 1button destro unless you have to be affliction for Malediction. Demonology is shit but it still can work in t5.
